Can I just say that I'm giving you all permission to make simpler cards! Nice of me, right? Though it's not always easy to keep to a more simple design, they can still be so cute! And you've got to give yourself permission to create, even if you have less time and that means not creating something that's over the top. So, with that being said, I really like this simple card. I took my time watercoloring this and fussy cutting it out and so went with a clean and simple base.
I did a bit of masking to add the Santa hat directly to the gingerbread boy from Sweet Season. I cut a slit in the mug from Kitchen Cuties to add the candy cane from Tis the Season. I also mixed sentiments from both of those stamp sets as well.
Here's our gorgeous Mood Board...

I added this sweet little fox stamped image along with a sentiment from Santa's Helpers. Colored with Spectrum Noir markers. The sentiment was embossed and added to a hand trimmed banner.
Here are the products I used today.

You can see I created a textured background by die cutting the images and gluing them flat onto the background using the same color paper. I would highly recommend that you choose your photos and design first. That way you can glue down the die cut images around the empty space. It was a considerable job to do this, but having done it for areas that would end up covered would have been a huge waste of time! This step will save you, believe me!
And of course, these white flowers were created with the die as well!
I recently created this card for our #CDDMONTHLY Social Media Mood Board Challenge that also features another design using this same die background. I think it's the next post here on my blog...so you can keep scrolling if you've not seen it!
