Pizza ~ABC Challenges Q for Quilt~

Pizza

Yeah friends! Happy Friday everyone! I have 2 posts going today, Stuck on U Sketches went up late last night so if you are here looking for that, enjoy this card and then scroll -on- down...LOL!

If you are looking for ABC Challenges and the Q is for Quilt challenge, picked by yours truly! Then you are in the right spot!

We have our fabulous sponsor, Bugaboo stamps and this knock out is from them! Thanks! Check out the site for the great prize package at ABC!

I had a heck of a time with this challenge (yeah, I know, I chose it!) between the kinda girlish challenge (quilt) and the not so girly image and more importantly...the sentiment! How was I going to make this work to give to my husband with a "quilted" background?

I played around with these precut squares and finally went with something simple, with some enhancing embossing to the square. Can you stand that sentiment? Hahaha! Luckily in my house...you get the cop AND the pizza (that being one of the only foods my husband eats, followed closely by donuts ~its true!)

So I had to take a stab at making my own mini dishes and I think they came out very cute! I may do this again!

Ok...don't go yet! Please! There's more to see in another post for today....hugs...

Summer Sweets ~SOUS I Love Summer Challenge~

Summer Sweets

This post is actually going up first for SOUS but most of you will see this as the second post on Friday so thanks for searching for me if you had to!

I think some of the fun of this time of year is the challenges that can come with it! So today at Stuck on U Sketches were are hosting our Die Cut Challenge and we've got...I Love Summer
What a delightful challenge! Don't you think!?!

Here is the fun page I've created...

Last years trip to our local fair had the best set of photos from it! Almost every single one I knew I wanted to scrap! It killed me to wait so long to do these! This is my little girl Jordyn enjoying a waffle cone ice cream in the wooden bleachers at the fair.

Summer was cut from Lyrical Letters cartridge and sweets from From My Kitchen. The little chipboard piece was from my stash and I added a puffy strawberry sticker. Also...lots of Stickles! SO pretty!

I used a good number of embossing folders on the ice cream treats...love that texture and the twine border

A few stickers elements from October Afternoon and another puffy sticker.

I was honestly scared about how this would turn out because the photos meant so much but I am happy with the end result. Even with the pastel colors since I tend to be more a brights girl...inking the edges helped greatly though to not look so cheesy.

But there you have it...thanks for the visit! See you soon!

Zumba Girls and some challenges...

Zumba Girls

Wow! Life is getting to me! LOL! Well...meaning I didn't realize I hadn't posted anything...but never fear! There is usually some draft in my blog roll waiting to be posted and shared with the world! LOL!

I had these good looking ladies as thank you cards for the 2 sweet Zumba instructors that teach free classes at a local church. I am beyond in love with the classes and wish I had found this a long time ago! Dancing is the most fun ever to me so I should have know!

The girls and background shapes were cut and colored with my Cricut Imagine, the card base paper is the Rock Star stack by DCWV. I've added some small Prima's and pearls and inked things in black...oh, and added Sizzix flourishes.  Easy and oh- so cute! The girls were really cute and I heard a lot of "Did you actually make those"! LOL! The card of handmade cards! =0)

And a few challenges to share this with as well! Yay!

 Southern Girls ~die cuts
Simon Says Stamp ~anything goes
My Time to Craft ~it takes two (ladies I certainly hope my semi-matching set of cards with similar elements will work for this challenge, if not, I understand! but I was inspired by this to add the same elements to each card but in different colors!

Ok, see you Friday....got a double day posted and ready to go! See you then...

Best Friends and Altered Frame ~SOUS Original Sketch by me!~

Best Friends

Praise the Lord! It is Friday! What a week! I have to tell you guys that I appreciate the caring comments I have gotten when I've expressed some of the grief going on at home with the kiddo's. Apparently I'm not the only one with little terror's right now (is it this time of year?) but it got bad enough this week that in the middle of the nastiness a hole got put into the wall (no, no one punched anything..but still). Anyways, any caring prayers for this Momma to keep her sanity, I'd appreciate!

But enough about that....how about a new sketch, by yours truly for Stuck on U Sketches!
I've always loved this style of scrapbook page but actually have never made anything like this...so I was very excited about the possibilities, I may have to try this one again...

 And my page...

Oh yeah...an iPhone picture! Maybe one of my most treasured photos also! Just a simply picture walking to school one morning...I'll admit this picture makes me melt into a thousand pieces...Lord I've never known a love like this!

All these great details, the prints and cuts came from Enjoy the Season's Imagine cart (minus the Best Friends from the same name cartridge). I've added some brad and pearl details as well...easy and way cute!

And...I am helping put together a gift for Scotti's teacher for an end of school year gift. A beach basket as I know she's such a fan of the beach, and she's an avid reader so we're getting her a big ol' gift card as well...but here's a quite altered frame I made to include in the basket...which I should photograph and share when that's complete!

Wonderful...well this weekend is the last full weekend we have as a family before Justin is gone for 2 weeks! So hopefully lots of family fun...and here's to a safe and fun holiday weekend for you guys as well! Hugs to all!

2012 Mothers Day Cards

You Are My Sunshine

Hi all! Before it gets to late after the day...I wanted to share my Mother's Day cards I made for this year. Because time was short I made the same card for both the Momma's in my life, my Mommy and my MIL. The card was fitting for both ladies. I thought of this because home means so much to my Mom and my MIL recently moved (closer to us) so the homes were perfect for her as well!

The cute house scene and sun are both from Imagine cartridge Better Together. Not the same cuts but I thought they were cute together!

I had no idea what detail to add to the card since it took up the whole card front. But its amazing what the little embroidery floss "clothesline" added...those darling (and pain in the butt) little bows and tiny flowers and shimmering, welcoming windows into the homes!

 Take care friends!
p.s. When the heck did The Bachelorette start? I thought I'd go to bed early and realized it was on! Geez! My very guilty pleasure...hehe! Oh and speaking of which...I think there's chocolate somewhere in my house! Yes! A good night!

Sweet Hugs ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge, Fruit~

Sweet Hugs

I am certainly feeling in a sentimental mood the last couple days. Times have been hard at home. My oldest son is suffering from allergies (like many of us) but in turn has had a hard time with asthma and is on a ton of daily medication. Because of all of this he is having breakdowns pretty much daily. It is draining on me and on him, I am sure. Then to top it off I have had about 4 nights sleep in over 3 weeks. With 3 young kids it seems someone is always up.
So with all this going on, I still seem to want to grasp at anything good, positive, inspirational and I still know my life is amazing, even if it's a bit tough right now.
Getting to the point...I am very, very grateful to the woman at Stuck on U Sketches. This is not only one of the most talented group of ladies out there, but their kindness and support is awesome! I have been told by our participants that they can tell the type of woman they are, and I love that! Love you guys (or should I say, gals!)

 Ok, ok...so....we have a new Die Cut Challenge for you guys and it's a yummy one...F R U I T!

Surprise, surprise, I don't know exactly what carts I used. But I do believe the square mat and circles are from Imagine More Cards. The cherry from Country Life (or is it From My Kitchen), see I never know! LOL! All the parts were cut and colored with the Imagine (only the white background is Basic Grey and the red lattice punched borders are a random red from my stash). Letters stickers are BG as well. I added a few little things like faux stitching, inking, twine, pearls and Liquid Pearls (for small accent on hearts).

Easy little card! I mean, they all take time to put together but it was simple enough and is super cute IRL.

Here is to wishing you all a wonderful weekend! I've got Zumba in the morning, a fun night planned for the children's ministry volunteers at church, the farmers market and visiting my Mom on Saturday, church Sunday and that's about it! I really do hope I can get time to craft! I haven't since last Saturday! boo!

Ok, ok...way too chatty! See you guys soon....

Baby Pockets ~ABC Challenges~

Baby Pockets

Ack! A day late in posting my ABC Challenges project for our half way through the month! You all know I'm not usually late but somehow my card is missing from my projects list on my blog so I guess I forgot! So....our challenge?

P for Pockets!

Our great sponsor this time is BunnyZoe! Thanks! Great luck everyone!

Ok, so a bit back I was trying to sell my Cricut Imagine. I was feeling like it was too much of a fuss etc, etc. But after realizing I'd get pretty much none of my money back, I decided to force myself to use it and love it!

So this was one of the first things I made (again, LOL) The great background paper and all the pocket cuts and prints were from the Imagine.

The popsicle, lion and airplane are small Snag Em' stamps by Imaginisce. Paper piecing these itty bitty's was pretty interesting but the impact was exactly what I wanted! I tried to add a little something special to each pocket. Using alpha stickers, buttons, hearts cut from the Imagine, a butterfly punch and some of details like bling, glitter and Glossy Accents.

I have no idea who this card is for but I have to tell you...I just may keep this one for now. I actually still have it sitting out in my room! LOL! Thanks so much for coming by and see you soon!!!!!
