Watch My Angel Dance ~SOUS May 28~

Watch My Angle Dance

To see this weeks sketch, please visit Stuck on U Sketches! This weeks sketch was created by Beggahuna. She has some of the more unique and diverse sketches out there and I always enjoy using hers! If you haven't had the chance to visit and see her work, you can find her HERE!
I am editing and coming back to say...hello...we got awesome BLOG CANDY to give away! You'll have to go to SOUS to see what we have but its a really really good giveaway...just gotta go back and leave us lil' ladies a lil' love! Good luck gals! And thank you to Generations Crafting for the blog candy giveaway!!!

Ok so I have to say that I loved this project! At first I had a whole other idea but as luck would have it my printer is out of ink so I had to go on the hunt for other photos to use. I do kinda feel like I am only scrapping my daughter but so many of these sketches seem to have feminine vibes. I do what I can though! LOL!

This page certainly does not have any where near the detail that my blogging friend puts into her pages but I do feel like this reminds me a bit of what Fern does. So Fern, do you think so? Again, nothing like you pull off, but the softness to it does remind me of your beautiful pages!

The paper is from K&Co but ALL of the gorgeous embellishments...the ribbon, flowers and bling can all be found at Generations Crafting! And now that I am thinking about it...I do believe these are all from Prima Marketing!

This is my little blonde at her dance class. If she isn't busy watching herself in the mirrors then she busy looking at someone else!!! Title stickers are from Mrs Grossmans (I have a long way to go on figuring out how to lay these straight!)

I inked most of the paper with Dried Marigold and Broken China distress ink. I want to try harder to mix the colors I own with different PP so this was a fun attempt and I love how it turned out! Last time I used Broken China on a multi colored dot paper and thought it was a killer look! You can find that here, if your interested.

These flowers were quite orange so to soften that a bit and have it go with my peachy pink colors I added a couple colors of chalk ink to these and then dusted them with Stickles.

This is my first project using a paper piercer to pierce and then hand draw the "stitching". Not the same as really sewing but I think it works enough to tide me over until I someday get a sewing machine!

I hope that you are all doing well...our great friend Sandy sent us a quick email to tell us that she had been taken away this week as a total surprise for her birthday. We will miss seeing a creation from her but hope she enjoys herself immensely! Happy Birthday Sandy! Love ya!

Oh my gosh, okay so I have just a pile of finished scrapbook pages...I do have room for them in books but haven't wanted the chore of putting them in...well guess who got to this cabinet in the house? Yep! My little Cody man in now opening up anything that he can...and pulled the flowers off this page and wrinkled it up...no problem, goes with the distressed look. LOL! And speaking of babies, I am holding him right now and it's no fun to hold a wiggle worm and type...so off I go! Have a friday folks!

Katie's Birthday Mini Album

Sisters, are Friends for Life!

Ok let me fore warn you that there are too many photos of this mini album and I will be impressed if any of you wait long enough to post a comment! LOL!

But I do have to say that one of my favorite thing when I go to blogs is seeing all the extra detailed photos, its as good as we can get, right? Since we all can't "see" the stuff in person...

Ok so onto the album, I did this for my youngest sisters birthday. She recently turned 20! Love ya sister!

Paper is DCWV Safari Kids stack (and so is the matching embellies). All thanks to birthday gifts to me from my crafty girlfriend Donna! Funny how I can forget who gave me what but I remember every craft related item that someone else gave me! LOL!

Rub on sentiment from Bo Bunny.

Well I forget the exact word my Mom used to describe me at 13, "exquisite", I believe is what she said. LOL! My husband said I was terrible looking. And well, I can't help but feel some type of pull for the little, quiet and unsure girl I was, who in 2 years time would be beating the boys off with sticks (nothings changed with that part but...LOL!)

Anyways the photo is of me, at 13 holding my little sister Katie. Katie was adopted and came home at around 4 lbs...her birth would change my life in so many ways...she being the reason why I wanted to adopt in the first place. I loved her so much I wanted to be a Mom in exactly the same way and 12 years later I adopted my first born!

Myself and Katie in the Christmas tree lot a couple years ago..another favorite photo of mine!

I had to add a picture in of Katie's biggest fans...we LOVE Auntie Katie!

I haven't scrapped this photo yet and its of last Thanksgiving and my entire family. Look at all that fun (and it was fun, I ate super quick and ran to M's and got about 5 carts for Christmas, I swore I wouldn't be that person but I still haven't used a couple! bad, bad girl!)

The other details of the album are some really cooly textured Prima flowers with some random brads from my stash. And some ribbon and my favorite, twine!

I hope that you enjoyed this post, glad I've got you folks to share with! This was only my second go at a mini album and I do really think these are sooooo fun to make!

(I am laughing that this is almost a month old and now I am finally posting!!! wowza!!!)

Dude Your the Bomb!

Dude Your the Bomb!

Please visit Stuck on U to see our sketch for this week!!!

This sketch is also my DT project for Generations Crafting. The wonderful paper line by Basic Grey, Granola has some unique and earthy colors and prints. Not sure that I would have named it Granola because I don't feel like that name really reflects the line and might throw someone off from it but I do really like the collection!

I always feel so lucky to be able to use a favorite photo and highlight as we do in scrapbooking. I recently took these pictures (and am glad I did before he got a big haircut and now has short, spiky hair) and I think of all the photos I have taken that these show how much he has grown up! I told him that he looked grown up in these pictures and he said "like 6?" and I said "no, more like 8!" Oh he got such a kick out of that! So proud of himself! LOL! He turns 6 this summer.

We also have a wonderful guest designer this week...please help me welcome Beatriz! Honestly I am pretty thrilled to have her as I find her designs colorful, happy and always something fresh! I know we have a nice little blogland family here but if you haven't checked her out...please do! Thanks for joining us Beatriz!

My title was cut on chipboard (aka cereal boxes) and layered and inked up in Dried Marigold and Tattered Straw distress ink.

Everything was inked on this page...on the darker cuts with Black Soot and Shabby Shutters.

All the "bomb" cuts are from Indie Art, as well as the large target piece that I popped off the background.

Font and the cityscape are from Plantin Schoolbook. This also shows my journaling and stamping.

I am sure that most of you have, but if you get a chance to see what my other friends did with their version of the sketch...that would be great!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!! I apologize for the short post today...just in case someone out there reads this blog post, I will just say that I am swamped with some other projects lately so my time is really limited (on the computer especially!)

xoxo Leah

Disneyland Photos

Disneyland 2010

Well my photos are backyards from last day to first day but for time sake I will leave them as be...

We had a really good time on this trip. I understandably was nervous about going with a 4 and 5 year old and an almost 1 year old that only started walking that week! But everyone was great, well until day 4 and I think we had all had it by then!

We had some unique and exciting moments from this trip. We had a Disney cast member walk up to us and let us pick ANY ride in Fantasyland to go on and she got us directly on the ride, no lines!

We got evacuated from Tomorrowland because the LA bomb squad got called in for a supicious backpack...filled with....food! oh the horror! LOL!

Here is my Scotti enjoying some watermelon (wa-wa-me-yon). Looks at those freckles and big blues!

Cody throughly enjoying Minnie Mouses house! Sweet as sugar (and maple syrup!)

Justin cracked me up putting Cody in the photo like that but it worked!

This was our free "meet and greet" where we get a free Disney photo for having Disney credit cards!

There are a few spots that we take pictures in EVERY visit and this was one of them! But our first photo here as a complete family!

Really, had to share this because it was too too funny!

Pooh's corner of the park is a favorite place for me...gotta LOVE all the bee and honey there!!!

We had the BEST experience EVER at Goofy's Kitchen! Goofy spent a ton of time with us, from sitting down with Cody, to picking Jordyn up and putting her in her chair and helping with napkins! Also Minnie came and brought Jordyn up to dance and then Sleeping Beauty held hands with her and danced (got that on video!) We also had a ton of time with other characters from this meal...I think there were others dining but it felt like it was just us!!!

Now everyone looks at my husband and thinks he looks like such a nice, relaxed guy. NOT! Normally he won't wait in lines to meet characters but this time he waited when we first got into the park! how nice! And what a fun photo! Hi Mickey!

Oh the flowers had NEVER looked better then they did this trip! This is in (and I forget what its really called) but Bugland in Ca. Adventure. She's as lovely as the flowers!

I will spell this wrong but, Heimlic's Choo Choo train is also such a fun place for photos! I think I have all my babies in this hat on this ride! I really love this photo!

Another first was my 2 big kids being big enough to sit together on some of the rides! Hi Mom, Hi Dad! Thanks for taking us to Disneyland!!!!!

Of course there are lots more photos but I wanted to get going and share some! If you can stand it I think I have 2 or 3 projects that are completed but I have yet to post? Don't know why? Saving them for a rainy day? LOL!

Happy Hump Day guys!!! And I wonder...is this time of year just crazy for everyone? I feel prettty crazed over here, thats for sure!!! And I guess because I know you guys are my friends, I am thinking of retaining my son in kindergarten. I had fought this for awhile but really think it could be the best for him in the long run. Its not a big thing to others but I am really having a hard time making a decision. This is really emotional for me. Not totally sure why? Any prayers for me to help me make a good decision and to feel some comfort in it, would be great! love ya!

You and Me ~SOUS May 15~

You and Me

Stuck on U Challenge~ Buttons!

I want to start with saying sorry about not having this up and going, either here or on SOUS. But my family and I decided late sunday afternoon to go to Disneyland and we were on the road an hour later! Take about a dirty dog mission! With all the excitement getting ready to leave I did not have my photos ready to post and was not able to do it with the computer I had. So better late then never...right?

(So Ms. Donna see anything familiar on this page?)

We had a fun challenge this week to use buttons on our project. This may or may not be a challenge but I don't use buttons all that often so this was really fun for me! I used several styles which was fun too!

The pp is DCWV Spring stack, I think about a season ago. I don't think the colors photographed very well because I love this so much IRL but think its a bit dull here...

Rub ons are from Memories Direct. Flowers are Prima.

Please forgive me for making this so short! We got home today and I got most everything put away already and about 1o (ok maybe not that much) loads of laundry going...I hope to get around to blog hopping tomorrow...and trying to get ready to post some of our fun fun FUN Disneyland pictures! We all just sat as a family and watched a slide show of all the pictures...kinda surprised I took so little (well, little for me!) Can't wait to share!

Hope you all had a wonderful week!!!

Jordyn ~Generations Crafting~

Jordyn

Well this happy little page is covering for a few things!
First off these fabulous papers came from Generations Crafting! A wonderful bring happy line by Basic Grey called Lemonade!
Yum!

These photos are from Jordyn's 4th birthday this past March. She got some wonderful play clothes from her Auntie Kika and Maddie and was not afraid to show them off! The larger photo shows her in one of her positions for her dance recital program (I can almost hear her say "wiggle, wiggle")! LOL!

I was warned that challenges would be addicting...

First challenge this is being submitted for is~

~Your Next Stamp~ Getting Dotty (that would be my dotty paper and chipboard pieces!)

(one was for Crazy Challenge) brads, buttons, etc...crap, missed that one! This next was bling but I don't think I had enough to enter it...

~OH crap I missed Alice in Wonderland challenge blog too...damn it!

~Practical Scrappers~ Stickers! Well I did get that in! The Aurora sticker, heart stickers and tickets! Woo hoo! I made this one still! LOL!

~Stampin Royalty~ Anything but a card! Well not a card, so that's great!!! LOL!!!

Thank you for having me for these new challenge blogs...I look forward to joining again!!!! Hope you all liked!!!! xoxo!!!!!

Happy Smothers Day! ;o)

Please roll on for the other post for today!!!!!!

Max and Whiskers Mothers Day ~Generations Crafting~

Bo Bunny Max and Whiskers Mothers Day!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
(to all you lovely ladies who love someone out there like a Mom!)

Okay you could probably not get anymore outside the normal realm of Mothers Day cards then these 2...but I don't have normal Mom's! LOL! Just kidding (kinda!) But these fabulous papers by Basic Grey were just too original and too cool not to use!

Basic Grey Max and Whiskers line with lots and lots of cool azz product can be found at my favorite place to shop...Generations Crafting!

You are a DOG gone good Mom! reads the left card, to my Mom.

The fun pet print is Bubbles, I used both sides of that print. Maybley is the roof and for the flowers I fussy cut from Hercules!

Mom, your the CATS meow! is for my MIL. The awesomely fun print is called Sasha, I wonder which cat on there it's named after? I cut another cat out and popped him up in the corner and framed the whole piece with Hercules.

A little popping, some google eyes and Liquid Pearls for the collars.

Thank you so much to Floren, the owner of Generations Crafting!!! Have a great day all...wanna know what I'll be doing? Going grocery shopping, hitting up Walmart and picking up more scrappy adhesive since my kids always seen to steal my foam squares! sooo exciting? hehe!

My Mom ~SOUS May 7~

My Mom

Happy Mothers Day!!!!!

and Congrats to the SOUS Guest Designers!

I want to say Happy Mothers Day to all the Mommies, Grandma's, Auntie's and to really all the special women we have in our lives! To me this is a celebration of the women we cherish in our lives, Mothers or not. So let us remember those ladies we care for, those that are here and those that watch us from heaven.

This LO was so special to me because this is my Mommy. She and I have become so much closer since I had children. I really don't think you can understand your own Mom as well until you have kids of your own (like, why does my Mom obsess over me? what? just like you obsess over your own kids? oh, oh I get it now! LOL!)

This week at Stuck on U Sketches we have another killer sketch by a favorite, Liz Qualman!

It also just so happens that this LO is perfect for a challenge at The Pink Elephant challenge blog, the theme is Mom's...and well...perfect! Hope its ok for me to share over there even if this is a DT project! Great site all and I look forward to coming back!

I gave my Cricut a little workout with this LO! I think most of the cuts came from My Community. A cart I had to have, sold it and then bought it again! LOL!

Now if I may explain this page...this is NOT, I repeat NOT because she is the "old lady"...I got this idea because my Mom raised 6 children and now has 8 grandkids, hence the "so many children, she didn't know what to do!".

I wasn't sure about giving her grey hair but I did in honor of my Mom that recently has given in and stopped coloring her hair! Funny because the older 2 sisters love it natural and the younger 2 think she should continue to color it...guess there is a difference between the ages? With that said, my Mom, grey hair or none, would NEVER be caught in a dress and wrap! LMBO!

I really enjoyed this cut! I did a little modifying, added some shutters, pen and doodling.

I put the tree here instead of the second photo as in the sketch, and the rest of the embellishing instead of the flowers and such. I added the doggy because my Mom loves dogs so much (the stranger the dog, the better!)

I know this is shocking, but I don't remember what font I used (I have no idea why its so hard since I really only use the same half a dozen carts!) So while I don't remember that, I will tell you that the pp as well as the cardstock is all DCWV. Prints from the newest Spring stack.

After I had made all the cuts I had the brilliant (aren't I nice to myself?) ideas to add some stamping to my cuts. I recently bought Hero Art background stamps, the clouds and woodgrain (stamps are the 2010 release). I stamped the cloud stamp on the cloud cuts (from the Zooballoo cart???) in Versamark)

And lastly the woodgrain stamp in brown on the tree trunk...makes me want to do a whole forest worth!

And goodness, that covers it! Oh no, no it does not....we (meaning Sandy, Nanne, Sandi C and myself) choose our Guest Designers for SOUS....

Congrats to...

Barb, Stine, Jill, Fern and Beatriz! (don't kill me for not posting links BUT you CAN find all their blogs linked over at Stuck on U!)

With such an amazing and diverse group of crafters, I can not wait to see what you all come up with because I know its going to blow us away!!!
