Noel Books

I think one of the most fun parts about getting into crafting is that you look at everything different! Hey, can I use that? Alter this?

And that is exactly what I did with these little cubby board books, they measure 3x3. They were Disney Princess books but they had seen their day and needed to be tossed but instead, I sealed the pages with a wet glue.

This line has been out for awhile so I don't know how much Generations Crafting has left, however this is where I got all the cute papers! Imaginisce Cottage Christmas.

I dressed up the chipboard stickers with some blingy Stickles! So pretty!

Font is Storybook and layered a few times and popped. Flowers are Prima, buttons are Basic Grey.

I had some left over chipboard pieces and layered those with my scraps leftover from the 6x6 stack.

Happy Thanksgiving friends!!!

Many of you might not be seeing this today because of the holiday (or the shopping!!!) but we have another original sketch for you by Ness Waller! Check out her sketch and all the exciting layouts over at Stuck on U Sketches!

I have so much to be grateful for this year, I wouldn't even know where to begin to explain. But I guess the main thing, always the first thing is family, friends. The people we know and love. This fun little layout is of my boys! My husband and 2 sons. They were all sitting together this one morning and all had on the same color blue tshirts and luckily I had that camera out! =0)

I used a die cut and matching clear acrylic pieces for this layout. I am sure some of you will recongize it but now the maker has escaped my memory.


I cut my title out of grundge paper and layered it with coordinating cardstock and then covered it with a generous dose of Stickles! I did that to match the glitter in the clear embellishments. I like how the polka dot in the paper still shows up under the glitter.

I did a bit of masking and stamping in this center circle. I stamped with a Hero Arts woodgrain stamp and then colored the area with Distress Inks. I tried spraying it with water to fade the stamp but all I did was warp the paper! LOL! Luckily it didn't photograph but in person it drives me crazy! I guess I didn't have to give away my mistake? LOL!

A simple page for today but really sweet. I love these photos so much of my boys and was so happy to have scrapped them! Its also fun for me to try different scrapping styles and I haven't done anything this clean in awhile, let alone scrapping and stamping.

Now I also want to share a couple cards I did for Generations Crafting! Using the gorgeous Basic Grey Curio line! This stunning line has some amazing prints and a neat combination of colors. Maybe something you wouldn't normally go for, I don't know, but I really loved it!

Also Tim Holtz new Sheet Music embossing folder!


I did mix a bit of the full size papers from Curio but also pieces from their 6x6 stack. I used the smaller, reduced print of Chiffonier to fussy cut the flowers, leaves and bird. The background paper is Rose Water which was embossed using Sheet Music. I sanded that and inked with Distress Inks. Just remember, the embossing folders emboss so deeply that they can go through paper, so be careful when sanding, unless like me, you wanted that distressed look. The pink and brown were also Curio, Rose Water and Linen.

Oh no, so sorry for the terrible picture! I had no idea it photographed so badly! Luckily the detail photo is better. Sheesh! This layered card features Curio Cabriole. Embossed with Post Card (see link with above embossing folder.) I embossed again with the brown reverse of Linen and then carefully tore the pieces and layered over the exisiting base.

I stamped over Cabriole with the Basic Grey Basic stamps in Date and Time. I LOVE stamping over printed paper, it is the coolest look! I covered some basic chipboard with Rose Water and also stamped over that. My lettering are Curio Alphabet stickers.

ThankFall Mini Album

So these were posted awhile ago but while I was loading some photos I realized that I have never posted this...so here we go!

This was for the Fall mini album swap that was hosted at Stuck on U Sketches. I know of course that most of you have seen those or have even seen this album already at Debbie Burns' blog but I will share here as well. She was kind enough to send me photos, I was so into packaging this bad boy that I totally forgot to take photos! Duh!

I'll try and keep the details short so you don't fall asleep...LOL...this part IS cool though. I keep some packaging from my embossing folders and used that was a window for the front cover. It allowed me to get very dimensional for the front but also have that protected. This cover has everything in it, rub ons, silk leaves, punched leaves, Flower Soft, brads, embossing, stamping and inking. My favorite is the "straw" hair I made!

I kept the inside pretty simple and clean and allowed room for fuller sized photos. The theme was what Debbie has to be thankful for..starting with Home.

I had the BEST time putting this together and think its the longest time I have put into something. Because of course a single scrappy page would not take so long. I loved this project and hope she liked it as well (which she did say she did, LOL!)

Jordyn (4th Birthday) ~Generations Crafting~

Jordyn 4th Birthday Photo Shoot

These precious photos were from last March when my little girl turned 4. I just can't believe how angelic she looks in these...nothing like the little stinker pot she really is! LOL!

This incredibly lovely background paper is by Glitz, Floral. I totally fell in love with this bright floral but with the black edges, way cool! I did a good amount of distressing on this page starting with the edges of the background paper. I used the reverse of Floral and Damask for the photo mats.

I used lots of Glitz goodies in here: rub ons, whatnots, and stickers. Also some Prima flowers and the Say It In Studs Prima froggy.

I added some silk leaves, punched leaves from the Prima packaging and even added in some Bo Bunny Learning Curve embellishments. Don't know if you all have noticed but I have been playing around with this new style of layering and adding in all these little goodies. Some of my very favorite scrappers seem to really have the touch with this technique but its still pretty new to me...new but very fun!

Best Friends 4eva ~SOUS November 12~

So I am on day 2 of my 5 day vacation (well not quite yet as I am preparing this blog post ahead of time =) and I am sure I am having fun!

But its friday and vacation or not, today is another challenge day over at Stuck on U Sketches! We are full of great happenings this month and one of those things is having original sketches just for us! How cool is that! Ness Waller has designed this months sketches and has done a great job! Please check out SOUS for her sketch and for her blog link (sorry to be terrible and not linking that =(

Here is my take:

Funny thing about this and I had not planned it at all. But this is a photo of my best friends and I at homecoming, I think Junior year of High School. And one of the gals (#3) is the one I am visiting now! Funny stuff!

All these wonderful pattern papers came from Generations Crafting (who by the way is going to have KILLER Black Friday deals so watch out!!!) These are from Basic Grey's Basic line...LOVE them! The papers were white but with a little ink...you can make them any color you want!

I have added some of Bo Bunny Learning Curve embellies. I though they were neat to add because this kinda was a school photo. I also used lots of embellishments from the Basic line as well (brads, clips, canvas tag, sticker labels).

I have another sweet little holiday layout to share today. Any photo with your child during their first holiday is so special and this being the first photo during Christmas with my precious babies...priceless! =)

This page is the counter part to the one I posted on monday, using the other cuts leftover from the die cuts before. I really love the border designs that Imaginisce does in their paper lines and the glaze they use on the icons. I trimmed the ends to look like ribbon and used Imaginisce cardstock stickers. I played them up by attaching Rudolf to the sleigh with shimmery shoelace ribbon and by adding, and I forget the product name, but something like a Snow Writer? It appears white when you use it but it dries clear with dimension and full of chunky glitter. Cute stuff but it stays slightly tacky so watch out!

Friday I will have my post to share for Stuck on U Sketches but for now I am getting ready to board a plane for Phoenix, Arizona!!! That's right, my FIRST real vacation in about 3 years!!! With NO Kids!!! Ahhhh!!! How is my little Cody going to do just with Daddy? Fine I am sure but this boy is a big hair holder and Daddy has a shaved head! LOL! The big kids will be fine but Mommy has never been away from them this long! Wow! Guess you could say I am overdue for a little "no kids" time! =0)

I'll be visiting my childhood best friend who just married her partner, Chris in a wedding in Boston a couple weeks ago. Our other best friend went to that and I am going to the reception in Arizona (so both her BFF's are representing! LOL!) And if that's not cool enough I am getting to spend the day with Floren, owner of Generations Crafting! And for whom this great layout is designed for! =0)

Wow, a little chatty there...LOL! I'll be back friday morning with another project...stayed tune!

Oh and Justin, if you read this...you can now be telling the truth when you tell someone your in your 30's since you are now 31! Hahaha! The only person on earth that wants to be older then they are! (not me!) but then again...I am the "older" woman! =0) Love you babe! Have fun with our kiddo's and don't feed them too much junk food and keep that TV off! =0)

Imaginisce Cottage Christmas line has been out for awhile but its really such a sweet line! And I LOVE the glaze that they have put on the papers, making them even more special! Stay tuned this week for lots more posts from me!

I also really feel like I publicly need to apologize for not blog hopping like I used to. All the creations and leaving love for them meant so much to me but I am finding so much going on lately that I don't have to time to visit as much as I used to. Still love ya all though! =0)

Okay so onto my project for Generations Crafting!

I actually did this awhile ago so sadly I do not remember were I got the wonderful flower shape, I mean from what Cricut cart. The awesome shape cut for the main piece is from Once Upon a Princess. Anyone else have that cart? I would have bought it ONLY for the shapes...so many amazing shapes to use for large diecuts for scrap pages or for cards. Love that!

My title was cut from Winter Wonderland. Cute cart as well! My first time cutting with either cart! =) This photo also shows my subtle journaling. I put a layer of green vellum under the page and popped the center piece. So I did my writing on the small space there. Its really neat in person!

The photos are from last Christmas. I saved the tickets from my kids seeing Alvin and the Chipmunks on Christmas Eve and made my own little pocket for those. Thanks Grandma for the holiday fun!!!

Bewitched Country Girl ~Generations Crafting~

Bewitched Country Girl

Hiya folks!

Been having a rough week so far so I am going to make this post pretty short. I got food poisoning on monday and have the kids myself so I am pretty run down at this point. But Mom's don't get rest, do we?

This fun little layout is a design project for Generations Crafting using the line Love Nest by Glitz.

This is my first time scrapping with a collage of photos and I really enjoyed it! Works great for someone like me that takes so many darn photos! =)

I used Polka for the background paper and a ton of scraps of both sides from Damask and Block. I embossed them using Tim Holtz Texture Fades and ripped them into pieces and layered them all around the collage. Not only did it add a ton of texture to the page but it was a lot of fun to put together! The post card is from Glitz, their Whatnots. The only thing not from Glitz are the pumpkin stickers and glitter leaves.

My title was cut from Mini Monsters and Country Life. I just cut out the words I didn't want and then put this together from Stripe (both sides). I also added some leave gems and Prima lace (orange and brown).

Here is a close up. I inked the title with Distress Ink. Covered it in Rock Candy Distress Stickles and added Liquid Pearl studs. Really neat IRL!
