My Family Together

I have 3 layouts to share with you guys today all featuring the wonderful line by Basic Grey, Oliver. Which all happens to be on SALE ladies!!!! Woohoo!!!!

Okay friends...since I have used SO many prints, I will bide you to check out the gallery at Generations Crafting if you'd like to see exactly what papers I used! Floren has links set up so you can go see exactly each product used!

I can see why letter stickers are so popular. I love the ease of creating titles but come on...some Crackle Accents on top and they turn out amazing!!! Also used Oliver Element Stickers for most of the accents...the train, circle border and journaling spot.

I also used the Crackle Accents on the stickers...SO cool!!!

Grimy and Slimy

I kept this pretty simple but come on...its just too cute! I had been dying to use my new cart, Boys Will Be Boys and these papers were perfect...not to mention the bath tub photo shoot! LOL! I also would suggest for those of you that use die cut machines, to try cutting with Basic Grey "solids". They are so interesting that they add so much more to your die cuts. Much more then basic card stock! I can't believe how wonderful these 3 die cuts look...just a little inking at the edges and they really hold their own!

Well I guess there is something about this line that reminds me of Scotti since he's pretty much the star! That round little face....I can't believe my baby Cody is even older now then Scotti was in this photo! I have always loved this picture and was so pleased to finally find the right papers to scrap it!

Because the colors were so strong, I simply just did layering. The arrows, stars and title and frame were the Oliver Element Stickers. I did some popping for the title but kept everything else pretty flat. My only other detail is my journaling around the edges of the paper and the black faux, wiggly stitch lines.

Today marks my second blog hop with Papertrey Ink! How exciting! ;o) You can find my project here for the hop I participated in last September (gosh that long ago?)

On the 25th of the month, after releasing new stamp sets PTI hosts an awesome blog hop! This time their challenge was to use their stamp sets in your stash that have yet to be inked or those that are collecting dust.

Well, gosh...guess what I got for Christmas? Stamp sets! And I've used none of them...well, until now! LOL! And seriously, I know, I'm ashamed with myself. :o(

Okay friends, I was a tiny bit nervous about submitting this just because its pretty different from what you usually see with Papertrey Ink projects but I came across this photo of my husband holding our baby boy and I immediately thought of my ticket stamp set (Just the Ticket) and started cracking up! LOL!

The photo is from about a year ago...Cody looks like a little doll sitting there! Like really cause he has that blank expression on his face! LOL!!!!! The printed paper is DCWV The Downtown Loft, and cream cardstock is Bazzill.

I'd like to point out my Cricut "cop" cuts...the handcuffs and badge are from Everyday Paper Dolls and the stop sign is from Going Places.

Okay and for my PTI stamps...my "warning ticket" is the library card stamp with the matching die. The ledger lines are from Its Official, along with the order stamp (top right corner of photo), To Be Filed and the Admit One stamp in stamped in Versamark along the ticket border.

Just the Ticket stamp set is used here for the singular tickets and the tickets were also from the matching die.

I think that covers most of the details.

Its another sketchy day at Stuck on U Sketches and we've got another hum-dinger for ya! LOL!

I really liked this sketch a lot but let me tell you...what a ride this one was!

I look at this and still (even though I did it awhile ago) think it needs something else but this took me forever!

So you know how popular of a technique it is to do your titles in different colors or fonts. Well..that is one cool benefit to the Imagine. I cut my title (which I thought it cut the details of this font so nicely, much better then my Expression) and printed it in 3 different colors. I did this on draft quality so the colors were not very bold. The red and green I touched up with some distress inks and was very happy with that!

This project just took forever because I was still learning the machine. My kid pulled the plug and I lost the whole project...it was just thing after thing with this one. So by the time I got it this far, I was out of steam! Still a cute page...and FUN to see some things done with the Imagine!!!

And really...how cute is my little Cody on his very first Christmas! With his au natural hair due! Okay off topic here but when Jordyn was little she had similar hair but her's would go into a big curl (mine did too as a baby) but Cody...his had a little haux! I was sooo sad when he grew out of that! LOL!

Okay..hehe..onto the page! These are both wonderful examples of using regular Cricut cuts but printing them on the Imagine and this is also printing in full quality mode. I do think the prints are really cool! Oh and how the pattern is down scaled for smaller cuts...smart stuff!!!

The other reason this took so long is that I must have had at least a dozen, no kidding, patterns that I kept jumping between! LOL! Shoot, I should have just used all Imagine prints...would have been easier! LOL!

Okay well make sure to pop to SOUS and see what my ladies did...some good looking stuff this week! =o)

It's a Love Thang

Bo Bunny has a wonderful collection out for Valentine's Day, Crazy Love. The classic color combo of red and pinks but also with some cream and chocolate brown added in...love that!

More then Words is the wonderful text background. Text prints are a total fav of mine and I adored this one! The photo is of my husband and I out at night, back when we were first together...and when I actually was up later then 9 pm! LOL!

The frame was from Cut Outs, I just cut one of the quadrants out and used that, cutting a square to fit. Underneath I layered some cut in half Prima's. Wow, those are bright! LOL! The great embellished pieces are I Candy Layered Chipboard, you get some glitter and bling all in one!

The rest of the pieces were cut from Love Story, this layered piece and the one of the top left of the page. I used my Fiskars to punch a border, Mrs Grossman's thin stickers to add that red stripe. Also threw some I Candy Brads...yum! I folded up one corner so that this piece mimic's ribbon, I didn't get that in this shot though =(

I will have another page coming up soon with this wonderful line to show you....

Fun thing, you can barely see that piercing because of the lighting in the photo...=o) Thought I should start scrapping some years ago...that and to give me the motivation to keep on my diet (of just eating better!) I'm loosing weight and am only about 10 pounds away from being where I was when my hubby and I first met! =o)

You Take The Cake

Hey all! Today is my very first day at She's a Sassy Lady! I am excited to be a part of the team here and look forward to sharing projects of all types with you. Today I have for you my very first project using the Cricut Imagine! After reading so much out there about Provo Craft's newest toy release, I was not too sure what I was getting into but after getting to know this new machine. I am pretty excited about it! I hope to share some Imagine insight with you, somehow to's and maybe take the guess work out of the machine for you guys.

Now my first tutorial is all about the printing part of the Imagine. We all know it's a die cut machine on steroids but there are some neat possibilities with the printing part of it. This sweet card (for my husband on Valentine's Day) comes from the Yummy cartridge. Now we all know that you can print images, how I think of it is printing something more like what you see on a greeting card from the store. You can print a single layer image or cut in layers like I did here. You can change to colors/patterns of each layer but for this example, I would have lost the words on here had I changed the color. So I went with cutting in layers what was shown on the cartridge.

There are many different setting for the Imagine machine but the first thing I really noticed was being able to print in Draft Quality or Best Quality. When you first are getting used to the machine, I say to save the ink and use Draft Quality!

Hit the Menu button and go to Settings.

On the left side you have some options, the second is the print quality, choose Draft Quality.

Now here is something I had not seen online. There are some shapes saved on the Imagine without any carts put in. I chose the very first one. The pencil on the top left on the highlighted image is how you alter the image (change colors, patterns, sizes, etc.)

There is not an option for a pattern to use since no cartridge is in the machine but there are some plain colors. I chose this blue and printed in Draft Quality.

And here is the card all dolled up! You can of course print in Best Quality and the image will stand alone but why not print in Draft Quality, save some ink and spruce up the images yourself!

I used a paint brush and distress inks to water color my cupcake. I love how it turned out and how you can really make it any color you want! I used Spun Sugar for my frosting but the very slight print behind it still shows up. I added some Crackle Accents to the cherry on top. You can also see what Distress Inks do to the blue background and the pink piece.

I used Broken China to give some color to the blue die cut and then embossed with Background Basics: Hearts by Papertrey Ink. After that I used some Faded Jeans distress ink and made sure to whip off anything that might have been over the embossed hearts. I used only Versamark ink the stamp the kraft card base.

Now the wording on here still needed something so I used an embossing pen to draw over the sentiment, You Take, and embossed with clear embossing powder. I also used the pen to add some embossed dots to the piece. The Cake was kept as is with some blue and brown distress inks on the corners.

I hope this gives you a ton of ideas how to make Draft Quality printing work for you on the Imagine machine. I love that you can still get something printed but you can take it a step further in making it your own!

One of my resolutions for this year was to join in more challenges. So my little card today is doing just that!

Now, we all have some of our favorites and it doesn't mean that we don't care about the rest of them but...I am participating in a few of my favorite challenge sites! Why my favs? Mostly it's the people! Okay, their projects are awesome too but the kind women don't hurt either! LOL!

I will start first with the card itself and the page design which is a card sketch found for us by Sketches in Thyme for their Tuesday Takes. I really thought this was neat and was excited to play!

Next challenge is over at Frosted Designs. Their challenge I thought was cool..to use 3 or more photos, stamps, etc on any project...I have used 4 stamps on my card! You could of really gone crazy and used 3 photos, 3 stamps...etc, etc! LOL!

And last, but certainly not least is Pile It On! I've had the chance to correspond with Dalis a few times and really like that chick! I am pleased I am finally about to play along with them. This is no challenge combining that some of the girls can rock out, but a good start for me! LOL!!!! Oh, almost forgot to tell you what their challenge was...cute kids (not that I would know because mine are NOT being too "cute" today!) LOL!

The cute kid is a Glitz piece. The airplane stamp is from Imaginisce (wing stamped with a splatter stamp from All Night Media). The background cloud stamp done in Versamark Dazzle (in frost). And my very first time stamping with it and its just GORGEOUS!!!! The 2 pattern papers are Basic Grey Basic in Manilla (hand cut clouds) and the shaped piece is a clear stamp from Hampton Art.

And since my kids are literally unable to control themselves right now and this single blog post just took me 45 minutes...it's time to go! =)

Merry Christmas ~SOUS January 7~

Merry Christmas

It's a new year with new challenges for all! LOL!

We hope that you will join us at Stuck on U Sketches and that this year brings you nothing but health, happiness and LOTS of crafting time! =)

I'd like to challenge myself this year to join in more challenges....a challenge in and of itself!

This week we have a neat sketch, really liked this one and though mine doesn't look exactly like it...you'll see it for sure as an inspiration!

You've seen this line a lot from me but here is yet, another project featuring Echo Park Everybody Loves Christmas. The paper and all sticker embellies are from that line. Here I layered a popped them to give some needed dimension and interest.

And our first Christmas family photo with our completed family. These are last years photos and Cody's first Christmas! I am the biggest fan ever of taking close up pictures myself so almost every time you see Justin and I, I took the photo!

You know what I just realized...that I almost feel like I need to explain myself if I am sharing a more simple project. Like I was about to say that and thought...do I really need to? Sometimes we want simple, or don't have time, or whatever. So maybe I won't say that cause you all understand. Unless you are like...Wow, Leah really sucked this one up! LOL! j/k!

A New Design Team!

I am more then excited to announce to you all that I had the privilege of being asked to join the team at She's A Sassy Lady. A blog with daily inspiration and tutorials of all types! There is a large design team which means a huge variation of what you will see when you come by and visit. Lots of ideas, explanations and even some videos to watch!

Basic Grey Mini Album

I made this lovely little album for Christmas for my Aunt Sarah. She is a professional singer/voice teacher and is a very active member of her church. I wanted to make something were she could journal or keep a record of favorite Bible verses.

Almost all the products used are from Basic Grey, the album itself, papers and tabs (all Curio) and some sticker embellishments.

In the detail photo you can see that I stamped with a Hero Art stamp with Versamark. I colored it with a pretty green color Perfect Pearl. So there is a simmery ghost stamp on the printed paper background. Its just so pretty in person! The large flower, the small green flowers (I folded in half and used as leaves) and the bling are all Prima.

Stickers are from the BG Basic line. A huge, huge fav of mine! Words are all hand written.

This photo shows you a full page view. I left plenty of writing room inside and gave a white gel pen to go with this gift. I am going to keep the text simple enough as there are lots of photos to share. Let me know if you have any detail questions, otherwise...enjoy!
