My blog was quiet there for a bit and now I've posted the last few days...hope you'll have a chance to look around a bit if you are just coming by today!

But what a great day! Reveal day for Stuck on U Sketches! I really liked this sketch very much and it always amazes me how some of the most simple designs lead themselves to the best end results! This one looks different from the sketch as I did flip it and it looks different also with the strong prints...but believe it or not, I kept pretty true to the sketch (minus the butterflies!)

Who is that naughty baby? Oh yeah...Cody! This little guy always smiles, is always happy and is such a snuggler (and hair holder) but man does he keep me busy...always into something, climbing, causing trouble (he and his partner in crime, old sister Jordyn!) I snapped all these photos quickly with my Iphone, too fast to get an actual camera out!

Not sure the paper line name but its "boy" something by My Minds Eye. Great prints! My title is cut from Mickey Font, an all time favorite font for me.

And my journaling spot. Instead of putting butterflies onto the page as the sketch had, I decided to punch and add some circles tucked her and there on the page. It keeps with the soft corners and adds some touches of color around the page. Originally I was going to do circles were the butterflies were but it was too much with all the prints, though I am happier now with how it turned out.

A Little Pick Up For You

G' Morning! Today is my lucky day...my post day for She's a Sassy Lady! I created this card a month or so ago. I made it before I went on vacation to give to my Mom as she was going to have another surgery while I was away and I wanted her to know I was thinking of her. She's is sooo not a girly girl so I knew something different would be great for her.

My "tutorial" today is more about adding details to a project then anything. I thought taking step by step photos of added detail would give a great point in what adding detail can mean...

So here is a basic truck from Just Because cards printed from Elise Imagine cart.

And the details...Glossy Accents, punched hearts, stitching, flowers and pearls.

And here added onto the card...

And another few steps of details..including stamped clouds, grass and more flowers.

Simple and so cute but really shows you what a detail can mean in the end. I was saying over at She's a Sassy Lady that theres the whole CAS style out there but you don't grow as much as you do when you put this kind of effort into a project...

I also wanted to let you all know that this will be my last post for She's A Sassy Lady..decided with this Summer so full and things changing around here with my little ones getting bigger, it would be a good but hard choice to step down. Thank you SO much Sheila for ALL that you've done, its been an amazing pleasure!!!

Welcome Baby ~Generations Crafting~

Welcome Baby

I hope that you all have come to realize you can't tell when I'm going to post or not...some weeks things are spread out and then times, like this week, something for a few days in a row.

So to start out, I have a little card that I made quickly because I wanted to get it in the mail right away. A good friend of mine is adopting a one month old baby girl and we are just thrilled for her! My oldest is adopted and adoption just has such a special place in my heart..something that makes me feel connected with others. But..onto the project.

I used a mix of papers, from regular prints to their border prints and stickers..lots of fun to mix these! The banner string and die cut banner are from Papertrey Ink, including those tiny toppers for the banner, if you are interested look here (its kinda cool which is why I am leaving a link!)

Cute and simple! Hope she likes it! I can't wait to meet little baby Olivia!

Button Jar and Flower

Good morning all!

Believe it or not, I have been crafting but everything has been for upcoming DT projects, so nothing I can share now. But I knew I had to post something so you all don't forget about me! LOL!

I made this card and the flower so time ago but am finally getting around to posting now...

I was having fun playing with some new stamp sets from Papertrey Ink or at least, new to me!

Ok, honestly saying I have no idea if I have posted this or not...I don't think I have but in case I did, sorry about the repeat!

Flower die is by TH and the paper is Basic Grey Basics, you can find at Generations Crafting.

I did some stamping on each of the flower petals but by the time it got a big spray down of homemade glimmer mist, the stamping faded so its hard to see on camera.

I wanted to share the other photos because the paper flower turned magnet is so pretty! I made it and wish I could only have been able to keep it for myself! LOL!

Stuck on U Sketches AND Scrap with V!

Well since today is a double post day for me...I thought it would just make the most sense to post these together! That way...you gotta take a peek at both! LOL!

Stuck on U Sketches~

This is something special for me since this is the only current photo, and maybe one of the only out there of all 5 of us! My siblings! We have another other sister but we don't know her very well as she moved out very young and lives in Florida. My big bro (and only bro) lives in So Cal so we don't see him and the kids as much as we'd like but this past Thanksgiving we were all together and it was wonderful!

Here's a close up...Amy, myself, Jim, Kerri and Katie. Jim had moved out before Katie was even born! LOL! Talk about spreading the kids apart! Luckily it has nothing to do with age and we're all super close!

I did some inking and stamping and layering for the title.

Not sure how this idea came along other then I was looking for a way to add some texture or add something to this leaves. I believe this new stamp was sitting out and that's where it started. So..taking a embossing tool, I rubbed in circles getting the impression of the stamp onto the leaves. I did some slight inking to further bring out the detail. Its a subtle look but a good one and just enough to make the cuts look more interesting.

By now you all know I am terrible about the details but here are a few:

Paper is by Basic Grey (background and die cut). Everything else but the darker green is by DCWV.

Lattice cut is from Wild Card

Of course I don't remember the Family or where the leaves came from! =)

The frame was made on the Gypsy and I added the tags, cut that piece then cut smaller tags to fit into those spaces.

I think thats good...LOL!

And now let's get to the next project....

This was another sketch challenge for me and as it so happens, was the same sketch as I did last month! LOL! But...you may not even recognize it as the papers are SO different! You can find that other layout here if you are interested in comparing. =)

And this is the first official page to my wedding album I am slowly going to work on to give my husband. I think I've mentioned it before because I scrapped one photo of my honeymoon.

This is a bit of a mix of flowers. I mixed some premade with those that you've got to layer yourself. I really like how this turned out with the touches of green leaves that bring out the green in the photo. And a big ol' thank you to my girlfriend Nanne for sharing these amazing blooms with me! Your a great friend! Love ya!

I wanted to keep the page monochromatic but still thought this white paper needed something. What you can not see is that I did stamp with Frost Versamark a polka dot pattern on the white, barely shows though. Argh! But butterfly I added to give some interest to that large open space. Cut in the same white only stamped and colored with Perfect Pearls.

Last detail photo is showing more stamping with Versamark and Perfect Pearls. Its a beautiful detail and is gorgeous in person! I don't think I've ever created a page like this and it will certainly be something to treasure! =)

Blast Off Frame ~Generations Crafting~

Hey all!

I haven't had too too much to post lately...seems like much of my DT spots are all posting on the same days this month...so bear with me! =)

I did this little altered frame for my nephew's birthday. They loved it!

All this greatness came from greatness...Generations Crafting! Thanks Floren!

I used a bit of this and that from the line and put this together...really a good time!

I wanted to show the side to show the edges wrapped in ribbon (by Kaisercraft). Also a great pic to show the dimension to the project...because it certainly had that! =)

Keeping this short! My in-laws were here this weekend and I don't know what got into me but I just redid my entire closet (my side and hubby's) and purged, cleaned, put stuff on Craigslist, etc. So glad I got it done though, something checked off my list! Now to get crafty if I can another burst of energy! LOL!

Hi friends! Hope today finds you all in good spirits! I can certainly say that's the case for myself! May I please start out with saying I am so overwhelmed with the kind words from the Whimsical Wednesday blog hop this past weekend, all the new followers honestly touched my heart. So thank you! And a special shout out to the kindest group of ladies ever..the new DT..very excited to get to know you girls!

And with alllll that said! LOL! Today is the first official challenge! Woohoo! The first wednesday you'll find a scrappy challenge and that challenge is:

A new scrappy project with Easter or Spring in mind and an added challenge is to add a critter or buggy to the page! Pretty simple! =)

Did this sneaky peek entice you? LOL! I used a mix of K&Co paper and some from Basic Grey, as well as BG chipboard. I also was able to add a small journaling tag above the photos, that also helped bring the cream color of the tags into that corner of the page.

If you only could have seen me arranging, rearranging and changing these tags and photos..oh my! But I like how the photos slightly turned and overlapped adds a bit more whimsy to the lined tags. The Easter rabbits and eggs were cut from the Easter 2010 cartridge.

I did some stamping on this page as well. Here on the larger egg, small pink and the "hop's" on the small tag. I had a great time adding small details and pearls. Butterflies and vine punches by the great and powerful Martha! LOL!

This whole page started with this fun group of photos I had taken recently of my silly little girl in the back yard. The idea, well that just kinda popped into my head...

The building is from My Community cartridge, with the Gypsy I cut only the top portion of the building. Paper is DCWV and letter stickers are by Basic Grey covered with Stickles.

And the treats... I don't remember where half of these cuts came from but it WAS fun to put together! Stamping elements from my stash, as is pretty much every single detail here...

I tried to equal out the embossing and the other embellishments so that there wasn't more of one detail then another. It kept the whole arrangement looking cohesive.

I used clear card stock from Papertrey Ink to make my jars. I used a tiny circle punch and punched the design out of the Sweets Treats stack by DCWV (left jar) and I used adhesive pearls for candies (right jar). I cut one layer of clear card stock put the elements on top of that and then one more clear piece which was popped with 3D foam, I made sure to hide that though!

My journaling spot was a piece I had cut from last years Christmas cards and saved...so glad I saved my left overs! The clear gem butterflies were added ONLY for my daughter who I knew would love them..and she did! =o)

And that about wraps it up...tried to keep the text short as I know its a large hop....

Happy Friday all! Hope you all had a terrific week! There is a lot to share with you today...so make sure to come back tonight and see what else is going on...

Nanne is hosting this month and she's got some terrific sketches for you...you can see this week's sketch of at SOUS.

Here is my interpretation...

The color inspiration came totally from the photo! I love how the colors all pop from the brown background. The papers were a massive mix from my stash. Lots of DCWV (fussy cut floral piece, tags, border punch and letter brown background), the rest is an unknown mix.

I finally got my sewing machine up and running again and was able to add some buttons and stickers from my stash as well. My journaling spot by Basic Grey written with a white gel pen, this piece came from the circle on the sketch.

And a little peek at the corner piece...just to put some interest in the otherwise brown corner..LOL!!!
