Halloween Night

The big night is almost here! Are you all ready for some Tricks and Treats?  We are (...ready for treats that is...LOL!) Today is another sketch post of Stuck on U Sketches and another design by your's truly! For designing sketches this time around I kept things pretty simple, thinking of those of you that have requested such sketches. Plus the nice part...the base is there, the embellishments up to your ideas...I love that! So here is the sketch for the 2 week challenge....

And my page! The super fun printed paper is by Doodlebug and I am pretty sure it is many, many years old. I used simple black and white to photo mat, and background mat the printed paper. I used a thick black marker to create my own edging. 

Made this fun little tag so I could make sure to get the date in here somewhere....

And these guys...along with the kids of course...are the main focus of the page. I started with welding shadow's together to create the black shadow and then started layering each one separately. And then tried to come up with something a little different for each of them.

My favorite of all is this multi-legged fellow with his Glossy Accent spots!

This was so much fun to create! I loved putting together the page itself, adding the purple ribbon along the white Bazzill Dotted Swiss paper and the black punched fence border. The ribbon adds some other texture to the page and a different finish. It's almost a simple page but I guess with the detail and the colors, it's still a lot. LOL...plus 4 photos! Of course you all know my kiddo's and then my niece Maddie...a year ago! Good grief...a girl age 10-11 sure changes a TON in a year! Wow! =o) Thank goodness I have time...

I hope you all have an incredible weekend! My family and I after many activities this week will be camping as a family at the beach..enjoying the coast pumpkin patches and then the day off for Halloween on monday! So I'll be making visits next week and will have many photos to share and scrap...can't wait!

October Scrapbook Kits

Hi Friends! I wanted to come share with you today the October Kit I worked on for Scrapbook Kits. This has been up on the shop for awhile and I almost freaked when I saw the date....where the h*ll did October go? I'm not kidding...I don't think I've stopped and really looked at the date! Halloween is almost here! Wow!

Because I am posting so much, I won't post all the extra detail photos but these are pretty easy to see (and you can click on the photo to enlarge). The kit has great papers and lots of chipboard. Today I am also running a post at Scrapbook Kits with a little more on what I did with the chipboard. But you can find the kits here! 

The kit also comes with these cool butterfly pins, great large purple bling and very cool ribbon.

This crazy big funky flower and more, and more chipboard!

Halloween Wall Hangings ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge Fence ~

Hello and a very happy Friday to you all! Today is another Die Cut Challenge reveal day at Stuck on U Sketches and we've got a good one....

Fence

There are SO many amazing idea's out there for this one and you'll be beyond inspired by visiting SOUS and seeing what the DT has done. Lots of very different way's to go...can't wait to see what you guys do! 

I had this idea for awhile but didn't have the wall plaques so by the time I got them I was chomping at the bit to do this! I started with painting these a deep purple and brushed some brown to make it more distressed looking. I also added some gold on the edges. Plaques were a couple bucks each at WM.

Let's see...I just know me and won't remember where all the cuts came from but...the raven is from Paper Doll Dress Up, along with the skelly. The tree is from Happy Haunting and the spider was hanging from a witches hat from that cart as well but I just wanted the spider. I've added some goggly eyes, punched stars and grass stickers by Mrs Grossman's.

The ghost is from Paper Doll Dress Up and the tombstones. The cat and the pumpkins are from Happy Hauntings. The fence...the whole point of the Die Cut Challenge...and I can't remember the cart! LOL! Leave it to me! LOL! The fence was embossed with a woodgrain pattern and popped over another fence cut for some added dimension. I also added an embossed image into the pumpkin faces using a Cuttlebug folder (the one with the circles and different Halloween images).

 

Last one...some Cuttlebug die bats (love those with the goggly eyes!) More punched stars. Another fence and more awesome pumpkins (from Happy Hauntings, a favorite image of mine). And some vine stickers from Mrs Grossman's as well.

Fall Pumpkin Treat Box ~The Cutting Cafe~

Hi friends!
The weekend is almost here and I am very excited! That means time to bake treats for the Halloween carnival at school and then, the carnival itself! Good times!

Oh and speaking of treats! We were asked this week to work with treat boxes at The Cutting Cafe. There are a ton of choices, shapes and idea's to run with and you can find some of those ideas here with the DT post for today. So check that out...fun stuff for sure! And even better (LOL) Regina has some killer deals going for boxes and bags and you can find out that info here.

And my project today features this super cute lil' pumpkin treat box...perfect for a small goody!

I used some green card stock from my stash to print the box on. It was super easy to hand cut and fold and put together. Very easy. And with the separate file for the layer, that was printed on this stripe My Mind's Eye paper. Embossed with Seeing Spots. The beautiful leaves were a die cut pack (packaging long gone so I don't recall the maker) and some layered Prima flowers. I used a square brad for the center and added my own gold Stickles and a F (for Fall) game piece I scored at a thrift shop.

I embossed side panels as well and just realized I embossed and added a 3D star on the back but didn't think of photographing that. Oops!

Bats, Cats and Birthday Hats

Like you all didn't have enough of my silliness yesterday...I get to post again today! LOL! Today is the 15th which is the second post day for ABC Challenges and our second from the relaunch...today's challenge...B is for Boo! 

But thank you allll for participating in our first challenge back...450+ of you! Wow! That was some blog hopping on my part! LOL!

I created this darling shaped card from the Mini Monsters cartridge. So the caldron is the base card. I cut a few layers so that I could do different colors, like for the belly of the caldron. The monster is also from Mini Monsters. 

The opening on the card was cut separately and embossed with a CB spider web folder, then inked with with metallic silver. The sticker letters are by Bo Bunny and were covered in Picket Fence Distress Stickles. The small bat is a Cuttlebug die. And very random ribbon pieces from my stash. LOL!

Here's a look at the card open. I used the monster but added another square onto the bottom of the monster to elongate it to use as a tag. It fits into the caldron rather nicely! I did some stamping using a text stamp for the inside of the card flap (and the back of the card). Polka Dots on the monster as well...with the rest of the greeting.

This was such a fun project to put together! This is going to be a birthday card for my niece who's birthday is a couple days before Halloween. Too fun!

Ghouls ~SOUS October 14, 2011~

Hey all! Today is post day for Stuck on U Sketches and there is so much to share! First off, hosting this spooky month of September is our sinful sister, Nanne. However due to a goof by, a-hem...me...this month sketches will be by me instead of Nanne (next month, I'll do text, you can enjoy her sketches). So anyways, LOL, some of you gals had requested some CAS sketches and so that's what I made. For as simple as it may appear, you'll had to check out SOUS though and see the cool interpretations the ladies did! 

And a bit more news...exciting news...we have a wonderful new designer joining us at SOUS for sketches. You can find Melissa here! Please do go by and say HELLO! We think you will all enjoy her and her style is beyond cool! Check her out!

And onto my page...this was certainly a time consuming one. So I'll just say now...it's gonna be a lost post.

So starting here at the base of my card. Using the Gyspy I welded together a bunch of Halloween images. Tombstones, ghosts, pumpkins, hats, skulls and more. Then I randomly smooshed Versamark over this and used UTEE. Then stamped with a distress like random ink spot stamp and embossed with black embossing powder. The edges were also inked in black. 

This is my first time using the font from Happy Hauntings and oh my! The thrill factor is pretty great! I cut a red shadow and popped the black and added Glossy Accents to all the drips...eeew! I also inked in a few gruesome shades on the frame and randomly used UTEE on the edges, and distressed. Very, very neat IRL. (I also and totally ridiculously cut out a couple teeny spiders out of printed paper and added them onto the frame..how beyond!)

There's always a creative mishap, right? Well try die cutting with Grungepaper, inking black and then covering in Versamark with UTEE....can someone say, bubbles? It just so happens the nastiness just added to the spider! Nice! And check out that super big butt bling! (I'm in a mood...forgive me!)

The fussy cut skull is from DCWV newest holiday stack. I added some staples (ouch!) and added the stamped text. Another detail you can't see is the glitter pen I outlined his teeth in.

Also hand cut this beautiful bottle. All I did was add the swirl stamp and embossed with black powder. And I added some pearls to the swirls.

Another cut bottle with sanded edges to show the white core. I used a embossing pen and black powder to add detail to the spider, and added gems. The pumpkins are from Happy Hauntings. And another nasty spider.

Did you think it was never going to end? LOL! Hope that wasn't too bad but I really did so much that I wanted to share it all! Hello friends! We started our week with a rainy monday but as it turns out we are due again for some seriously warm weather! =)  I just hope that lasts for all the Halloween activities the coming weekends! 

I wanted to share today my project for this week at The Cutting Cafe. For my layout I used the new Spiders and Their Webs file. I really like to options for this, the borders, images, and some neat extra's like the tiny tag I used, or the web squares that could be used as a layered piece on a card.

My background paper was a left over sheet from My Minds Eye, a couple years ago. I resized the spiders from the CC file and then cut the bodies out and drew in a few legs (a few to less for the real spiders!) I stamped and embossed with Distress Powders on the roof tops and sprayed the page with my first purchase of anything by Tattered Angels (the chalkboard spray in white).

And that cool spider web border is from the CC file as well...really fun! I guess this was a bit of a quick post but who has time to read so much during the week days? LOL! And now that I've done this post, I just may go back and actually add that title to this page...pretty sweet! This was last year's kindergarten photo for my son Scotti!

Live From Your Heart ~SOUS Tree Die Cut Challenge~

Hiya folks! Today is a great day, a special day each month when we tell our new Die Cut Challenge at Stuck on U Sketches! I always love these challenges, love the openness in what you can do and love, love to see what everyone else does!

So...this week's challenge is....TREE!

I loved this so much that I did another project but then had this idea as well so I am sharing this first and will wait to show you the other! =)  This idea came to me one of those nights I was up and of course I can't sleep when I start thinking crafty! LOL!

The darling tree is from Zooballoo, a discontinued but super darling Cricut cart. The banner stickers are by Echo Park. And then I added some detail to each banner. A punched heart or star, stamping, buttons, pearls, heart Rain Dot stickers, etc. ( just realizing now that this photo is a bit dark, bummer)

And some more pieces from different Echo Park lines.

I guess thats about it for today! I've shared a T O N lately! Go me! LMBO! I hope you all have a great weekend! I hope and can't wait to hang out this weekend and do nothing but craft, be lazy (maybe think about laundry, or not...)

Madness ~The Cutting Cafe~

Good Morning friends! I come by today with a quick but cute little card! We're off for the dentist this morning for the kids and me later today so another full day for me. But really..onto the card!

We were to choose something monster in theme from The Cutting Cafe  and I chose to use the monster shaped card from the "full of monster's" file...A Bunch of Monsters. Which by the way has a lot of different things with it, images, cards (like this one) and sentiments. Really cute! 

I added a couple rows of a polka dot stamp and did a couple layers of UTEE. I like the chunky uneven texture. And then added my embellishments...

The card took a bit of time to hand cut and believe it or not I pulled out about a hundred things to add to her and ended up with some adhesive chipboard pieces from Bo Bunny. What I really wanted was to have her holding an extra large lollipop but I didn't have the right stuff to do that =(

Untitled ~Scrapbook Kits October sketch~

Good monday everyone! Hope everyone had a good weekend! We did, it was a great mix of relaxing, scrapping, going to church activities and spending time with friends! =)

I wanted to come by today and share my project for the October sketch challenge at Scrap with V. 

You have all month to play, with either the sketch or a photo inspiration. You can also go by and see the DT which you'd be very impressed with..such a neat and different group! 

And my project. These photos are of Scotti and Jordyn this past Summer at a baby shower. Oh my how I just love, love these photos of them! I also have a ton more scrapable pix from that day! =)

This great line is Echo Park, Playground. I did throw in some solids from my stash but all the prints are EP, as well as the stickers. 

I had a great time layering, layering stickers, adding details to those. This was a relatively quick page to put together but I think its a fun one, the colors and prints really stand well enough on their own! LOL!

Quick post today but wanted to share it sooner then later!

Turkey ~ABC Challenge Anything Goes~

Today is an exciting day for me as it's the first post day for the newly relaunched ABC Challenge blog! And as one of the new designers I am looking forward to the challenges..something pretty different for me when it comes to a DT  =)

So what is the first challenge...Anything Goes! Oh yeah...that's a good one! LOL! Perfect to start with "A" and perfect to give everyone a chance to win a goody from one of 2 sponsors! Lili of the Valley and In 2 Stamps! 

Well this is pretty funny...I know nothing about this image! Seriously. It's a digi image from years ago when I first started crafting, I cut and colored him maybe 2 years ago and just found him...thought he was perfect for this Fall scene card. The tree is from Paper Dolls Dress Up cartridge. Stamped with a Papertrey Ink stamp, newsprint I think? The apples and acorns are stickers and all the leaves are MS punches. I used both Glossy Accents and Crackle Accents on various parts of this card. I love the texture that it adds to the card.

One of my favorite things to do is to add Glossy Accents on polka dots on paper...such a neat look!
