Hiking Go-semite! ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge~

Hiking Go-semite!

Happy After Christmas! hehe! We have the neatest Die Cut Challenge at Stuck on U Sketches....I deer-ly love Christmas! How cute is that, right? And oh dear...the deer, so many darling designs available these days!

Well I was super inspired by this challenge, however my idea was not a holiday project...but since it does include a deer, I thought I'd go ahead with it! I've got a ton of details here so let me get to it...

The title is a mix of Scrabble pieces and some cork letters. My Cricut title is a mix of Boys Will Be Boys (go) and Cuttin Up. I also added in a Basic Grey label sticker and heat embossed a little deer and mushroom (an older value set I got on sale at Joann). All the clouds are from Create a Critter.

Here I've added some grass from Create a Critter. The sweet little deer is from Cindy Loo. And the RV badge is from Campin Critters. I've done some background stamping on it and added Crackle Accents to the white on the car. I also added a die cut, vacation stamp and some brads from my stash.

Here is another badge, another critter from Cindy Loo and more brads and another embossed BG label. Similar elements added to each part on this double layout to keep it consistent.
The wonderful woodgrain paper and the fussy cut woodgrain doily are both from Recollections, Today Tomorrow Forever. The blue strip of paper is Basic Grey Hopscotch.

I simply can't get enough of this part of the page....I'm sure I'll find a reason to do this again! Both the branch (though a tree that I moved to cut only part of it using my Cricut Gypsy) and the birdhouse are from Cindy Loo. I stamped a Hero Arts woodgrain on the branch and added more punched butterflies. I adore this little birdhouse...popped with some acetate between that shows through the windows.

I used a good number of Distress Inks; Walnut Stain, Stormy Sky, Spiced Marmalade, Peeled Paint, Brushed Corduroy and Pine Needles.

This was an extremely time consuming project but incredibly worth it since these photos are such treasures to me!

Hope you all get to play or at least come see what our DT did with this challenge...see you soon!

Another Wedding Page ~SOUS Sketch~

Wedding

Eek! I'm a day late posting! But let me tell you, yesterday I squeezed in some grocery shopping...a whopping $300 since it had been at least 3+ weeks since I've shopped since everyone had been so sick, followed by a Dr appointment for me and then 2 holiday parties at school! It's no wonder the last thing on my to-do list was blogging! Right?

Well glad I remembered because it would be a shame not to share this sweet layout...another one for my now completed wedding album, which I'll have to share in its entirety sometime soon!

Sandi Clarkson designed a wonderful layout sketch for us this time at Stuck on U Sketches and it simply turned out some incredible designs from our Design Team...you'll have to check them all out!

I've used an American Crafts line, Dear Lizzy Neapolitan for some of this as well as well as Fancy Pants, It's The Little Things (dark floral and birdies).
I also layered in some diecuts from Papertrey Ink, Turning a New Leaf (cut in a music print from AC).
I so enjoyed putting this page together and adding small details like some twine, a brad in the center of the camera (circle punched from the pattern paper). And lots of Stickles!

I've done an extremely limited amount of crafting this last month but was able to do a bit of baking and made some cute, but super quick tags....thought I would share those today as well...

I hope that all of you friends are READY for Christmas! Can you stand it, it's almost here! Hurray! It is raining and pouring here today...Christmas music is one, all the house tree's are lit and it is feeling all holiday here! So I guess that means it's time to start the cookies...

See ya soon! Merry ALMOST Christmas! hehe!

Memories Like This ~SOUS Dec 19 Card Sketch~

Memories Like This

Who's ready for Christmas? I am....and then I'm not. I am ready, gifts have been done for awhile but then if the day comes, then the day's done and I like to hold onto this holiday for as long as I can! Ya know? But I am so looking forward to spending the time with my family. I had been extremely sick this past week, close to being hospitalized with the flu, strep and scarlet fever. I am still pretty tired and don't feel back to normal, but finally feel well enough to care about the holiday again! Now if I could only get the energy to do some baking...

Well today is a card sketch day at SOUS and it's a neat one...here's the card I created...

 Ho! Ho! Ho!
Speaking of Santa...here is the big guy and I in Virginia City during my wedding anniversary trip. This is the day I started getting sick.
I'm surprised I didn't get a little "treat" from Santa...he was very flirty! LOL! He had an elf as well...my husband said they were the parolees of the South Pole! Haha! But too fun not to snap a photo! Sadly I didn't take any other photos...I wish I had...

 Ok friends, thanks for visiting...hugs!

Oh Wonderful Boy! ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge Toys~

Oh Wonderful Boy!

Hi all! Let me apologize now for the extremely short blog post. My anniversary trip was a bust last weekend, I'll tell you all more about it another time and since then we've all been sick. The most sick in the house has been me, not cool! I haven't been online in more then a week and am still not feeling the best so I am making this post a quickie...

This is for the newest Die Cut Challenge at SOUS...T O Y S! fun! Right!

I've used Echo Park paper and this fun boat is from Pack Your Bags. This whole layout is hugely important because it tells all about my little guy at this age, all the things he is into...so the first thing is the Titanic.

I believe the pistol is from Wild Card 2 (which I borrowed). Lots of added stickers and brads and pearls. Really enjoyed adding details to these pages!

There is nothing more beloved in this house then paper airplanes and boats, so adding them here was very fitting. Even my son told me how much he loved this page! He warmed his Mommy's heart with that one, thanked me for making this! Ah!

Ok, well thanks for coming by...time for me to rest some more.

Bridal Party ~SOUS Dec 7 Layout Sketch~

Bridal Party

I'm going to make this a quick post for today as I am packing and getting ready to head out of town to celebrate my....

 Ba ba ba bummmmm....

 My 10th Wedding Anniversary!

I'm sure other of you married gals can relate to my next comment. I simply don't feel old enough to even be married so long! I mean, I'm only...what, 25?  =)

Well this little layout is for our Layout Sketch at SOUS and the design is by Sandi C. I really, really wanted to do the ornament thing from the sketch but needed a wedding page and so out this came. I'll have to save that idea for another time.

I've used lots of shimmer and shine on this page! Liquid pearls rubbed to create the metal finish on the locket and the wedding ring, both regular and Distress Stickles as well.
All my cuts are from the Sweethearts cartridge, one I use often.

I adore how these turned out, so neat in person with the Glossy Accents on the inside! I was so in love with the look of the inking on the edges of the glitter paper that I had to try it again, so you'll see that again. The look maybe one of my most favorite paper/inking combo's!

All these lovely papers are by DCWV, their last spring stack...I've used it a bunch and now the name has slipped me...

I'll be back soon to report on my weekend, share stories (though not all of them~ wink!) and photos! So wish the in-laws good luck, cause they have the kiddo's this weekend and safe travels and I'll be back soon. Hopefully I'll work on putting a big post together with my completed wedding album...I hope he loves it and sees all I've put into it, it wasn't a costly gift but something given from my heart. I love him more then I could ever say....

xoxo ~Leah

Hello! ~SOUS card sketch~

Hello!

Happy Wednesday! I don't know if I want this week to hurry up and be over or if I want it to drag on...
My little girl had been sick over the weekend and into her school week and in just a couple days my hubby and I are taking the kids out of town....and I'm so so worried that the boys are next to get sick, or me! Ah! So part of me wants to wait it out and make sure everyone is healthy before thinking about packing...

But...onto happier thoughts! I have a fun card choke full of stamping card to share with you today for this month's first Card Sketch from Stuck on U Sketches designed by this months host, Sandi C! Really a neat one, make sure to check it out!

Starting with the background pieces, I've stamped the chevron and then cut it out along the pattern. I thought that needed something more so on top I've stamped a text print and then inked all the edges. Both chevron and text are Papertrey Ink background stamps. The chevron square and label are stamps and dies by PTI, Fabulous Frames (a very most favorite stamp collection!) I also in the same ink as the text stamp stamped the tiny polka dots (also a PTI background stamps).

Lastly I cut the title using my Lyrical Letters Cricut cart. Diecut using Turning a New Leaf for the branches (stamp and die). I also added some hand cut canvas leaves and punches butterflies.

My inks were CTMH and I used coordinating Distress Stickle colors (rock candy, peeled paint and story sky).

This little card is on my favorite list for now! Those ones are hard to give away! LOL!

I'll back back in a few for my Friday post for SOUS...excited to share that one as well!

Christmas Gifts ~SOUS Nov 30 DieCut Challenge, Gifts~

Christmas Gifts

It's the last day of November! Ack! I don't think it hit me until just now that this year is quickly coming to an end! I mean I know Christmas is near, my house was decorated the weekend before Thanksgiving but the thought of this year ending...it will take me a few months to get used to writing 2013! So strange!

Well, let's roll into Christmas, shall we? I have a layout to share today for our current DIE CUT challenge at Stuck on U Sketches which is...

 Gifts!

How merry! Gift giving is one of the biggest blessings of this holiday season for sure! Even if the budget isn't the grandest this year...it's not about how much you give but trying to give at all!

These fun gifts are from Birthday Bask. A cartridge I borrowed while away at my scrapping retreat! Love how perfect the mousie was for a holiday page! The paper is Imaginisce Cottage Christmas and the holly print is by Basic Grey. Solids are American Crafts.

The snowflakes are from Going Places, Graphically Speaking and Joys of the Season. I really need more snowflakes...I've used the same ones for years now! Here you can see the layering in the background with multiple border punches. And also I did twine, Basic Grey and buttons for the snowflake centers. Plus, a great amount of Stickles!

Here we come December.....woot woot! I am SO ready! Here comes 24/7 Christmas music!

Hello Always ~SOUS Layout Sketch Nov 23~

Hello Always

I just realized I must have made some mistake somewhere and did the wrong blog post so I'm a day late posting! Oopsy! Well at least I got the SOUS post scheduled correctly =)

So here is the sketch I designed for this week at Stuck on U Sketches. Hope you like!

So I have another wedding layout to share with you! My anniversary is in about 2 weeks so I've got to jam on finishing this album up!

Love the title and the shine  ;)

This pretty paper collection is by American Crafts, Dear Lizzy. I think there's another name but don't recall. I added in the black matting since there is so much dark tones in the photos. I've added different flowers from my stash and some chipboard pieces as well. It was a simple layout but I adore the colors.

Ok, gosh I think I'm going to leave it simple today as well...short and sweet!

Can't wait to go home and see my goodies from Black Friday! I got a great set of large snowflake stamps that I'm looking forward to using!

Hope you all had an incredible Thanksgiving!!!!!

Celebrate ~SOUS Card Sketch November 21, 2012~

Celebrate

Hi guys! How is everyone! I am SO excited that it is Thanksgiving week! The kids are out of school and with my husband working so much this week, that means some family time...so we are packed up and heading to my Mom's house! That means lots of cooking and fun...it's always fun and crazy when my family gets together!

I have a card sketch I designed for SOUS this week, hope that you like it! What our team has done is so different...lots of ideas!

I've used a new collection in my stash, Pink Paislee- Soiree. So pretty! With the swiss dots embossed background. And some layered goodies...

The Girls Paperie for the fibers and buttons from my stash, a Petaloo flower and some punched branches. Easy, kinda fast but love how bright and happy this is!

Well I am going to dash...I have a friend visiting and her I am blogging! LOL!

Thanks for coming by and see you all Friday for another SOUS post!

Happy Thanksgiving, I'll try and make as many visits as I can this week!

Owl Card ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge Owl~

Owl

Hiya friends! Last weekend when I was away at my scrapbooking retreat I was able to get a ton done (okay, not really a ton but not too bad either! =)
One thing I worked on was this little owl card for our newest Die Cut Challenge for Stuck on U Sketches. I was so lucky that one of my friends had a ton of Cricut cartridges that I didn't have, so I had a good time using images I wasn't used to (or bored of, as I kinda am with everything...ya know?)
So this cutie came from Wild Card 2 and the branches from Cake Basics.

I used Echo Park Times & Seasons for the pattern paper (yellow from EP A Boys Life) and PTI kraft for the base. My always used Martha branch punch for the leaves. And then just a bit of embossing and spray inks for added texture.

And Glossy Accents to make his glasses more realistic. I adore how that turned out (though note to self, add a TON of adhesive as covering the paper in GA will warp when dried). Not too badly though!

Hope you guys enjoyed this little bad boy! And see ya all soon!

Family Photos ~SOUS Original Sketch November 9~

Family Photos

Friday! Friday! Can't believe it's Friday! Yay baby...that means just a day and I get some time away! Woo Hoo! I am beyond excited...last year when I went on my scrapbooking retreat I did get stuff done but not so much, this year I really want to stay motivated and get as much done as I can, that is without having a whole room of stuff with me!

Well today is a fabulous sketch reveal at SOUS and since I am hostess with the mostest then this one is by your's truly! Hope you like!
My first design was a layout titled Monkey in the Middle, I had vines going across the top of the page and a monkey hanging where the title circle was. All things were going smoothly until I realized all the vines on the page would cover the people in the photos. So...I didn't do that. LOL.

 Here's my sketch...

  And my layout...

I used the beautiful Crate Paper Portrait Collection. All the papers are from this line. The small shape here was a die collection by Papertrey Ink, Fabulous Frames (I added a S from an alpha die by them for our families last name) and then stamped a background stamp and clear embossed, this is a garage sale find and is by Close to my Heart. Key and locket are Jolee's.

Here is a mix of things! A metal word embellishment, diecut title is Gypsy Font, camera stamp by PTI Shutterbug Special. Flower and leave dies by PTI as well.

I started with a Basic Grey sticker which I then backed with paper to add a little color. White embossed the numbers and wrote the family members in each photo...starting with my little girl who was in almost EVERY photo that evening! LOL!

Ok friends...I'll wrap it up! Thanks so much for coming by and hope you all have as great a weekend as I plan on having! =)

Memories With You ~Nov 7 Card Sketch~

Memories With You

Hi all! I am so excited this week is moving along...the quicker the days go, the sooner I have the weekend away! I am way excited about my only full weekend away without kids for this whole year! =)
I am sure you are all feeling me on that, huh?
Also, I'm here showing off my new card for our first card sketch at Stuck on U Sketches for this month. Our card sketch is by the always wonderful Sandi C! Head on over and check it out...

I decided on a simple design showcasing some new stamps that I got. I really like the mix of the simple design but with the bold and dark stamped images. It's a neat and different project for me.

Gosh, I have no idea what this paper line is. I thought I would recall the name but I am pretty sure this was a long ago purchase when I started crafting...maybe something by Basic Grey? This darling house is from Pink Paislee Hometown Summer (love) and the banner is Making Memories Dilly Dally. Not sure of my sentiment and the flowers came in a set I picked up on the cheap at a craft even and there was no name on the packaging. I added some blue buttons and glossy accents to the windows on the house and then sent this little thing to my husband's grandparents...just to let them know that I was thinking of them...

Ok, be back shortly with my Friday post...can't wait! =)

Fall ~SOUS Fall or Autumn Word Diecut Challenge~

Fall

Inspired by all the wonderful word art on the market in home decor from vintage metal letters to canvas designs and all the fonts available on the computer our newest Die Cut Challenge at Stuck on U Sketches seemed a great fit for the season!

Our challenge...to use the WORD Fall or Autumn in your paper-crafting projects! Easy right? And our incredible Design Team has so many great ideas for you as well....so head over and check them out!

I also have to share with you some Halloween goodies I made for the kids Halloween carnival at school! Yum! The more you do with the goodies the more class points the kids get, plus having them individually wrapped and ready to sell! I had to refuse my kids buy the stuff I made because that just seemed kinda pointless...LOL! Ok...but before all that....getting off track here...

I've used some dollar stamps from Michaels, simply stamping on printed paper by Basic Grey. I've used metal letter dies from Papertrey Ink along with a spider and pumpkins from Cricut cart: Mini Monsters. Fence is from Paperdoll Dress Up.

This wonderful honeycomb embossing folder is a new purchase for me and is by Cuttlebug! So happy to finally own this design, now to find the chicken wire one! =)  I added a few extra punches leaves to the pumpkins but otherwise kept things simple!

 And the goody cups....
The same stamped images punched and layered over a white inked and embossed spider web. The Oreo's were splattered with chocolate and a few candy corns added in. I think simple but really cute and something perfect for the parents that just wanted a tiny treat for the kids.

And candy bars! Extra yum! Because of timing I kept all these treats simple, the spider and bats are Cuttlebug dies and the large leave an EK Success punch. All the labels were cut from Once Upon a Princess and sized on my Gypsy before cutting, each were stamped with a different background stamp as well!

Yikes! Another long post...hope you made it through...

 See ya soon! ~Leah
