Together Is The Best Place To Be
Woot Woot! Friday! Another Friday means another reveal at Stuck on U Sketches and my muy talented friend Nanne has designed maybe one of my favorite of all her sketches! Yay, and you've got to go to SOUS to see it...hurry, run...
Ok, you saw it? Good!
Here is what I made with it...
An adorable set of photos from a little backyard fun over at my Mom's house. This is one of my younger sisters, Amy and Cody last October. How little he looked! This is one of my favorite photos of both really. I happened to have photoshopped her out of it just to have these of Cody...sorry sis! LOL!
I've used mostly items from the Echo Park collection This and That Charming. Bazzill Swiss Dot is the background paper, I've also added some cardboard and cork and a few chip pieces from Sassafras (watering can and flower vase.) And lastly, some pieces of Kaisercraft ribbon tucked here and there...
This vellum sheet was trimmed to fit and is by Webster Pages (also part of it is the brown banner cut piece under the My Favorite sticker). I really like the added texture with the vellum. You may have to click on the photo to see the Glossy Accents I've added to some of the dots.
Basic Grey buttons, jute and clear bling and LOTS of ink are about the end of the embellishing...this page was ALL about the little added texture and accents. I LOVED putting this page together! And I'll admit, I liked the sketch so much that I was afraid I couldn't pull through with a page I liked as much. Like too much anticipation and could I pull through? LOL! Who knew this was so hard? Ha!
Hope you all have an incredible weekend doing whatever...as long as the whatever is the something you want to do! hehe! Us, no plans. Maybe yard work? That needs to be done badly and church. I am looking at hosting a small Bible study class in my home and need to talk with the church staff, we'll see.
Hugs to alllllll! ~Leah

Oh my gosh! I can NOT believe that the end of 2 terms (which means 6 glorious months) has come to an finish for my Design Team spot with The Cutting Cafe! What am I going to do with all the time since I probably won't be emailing Regina 100 times a day? LOL! Oh, I am going to miss it but hopefully will be back at some point with another term!
So this is my last post for them, for awhile and so very graciously I have an incredible file to give one commenter of this post from The Cutting Cafe!
Just comment and come back friday and see if you've won Welcome Home! If you have come from Paula Riley's blog, then you are on the right track!
Here are the darling houses from the file! I had thought to color these but as I was putting the page together I really liked the mix of neutrals vs. brights so I kept these simple.
I cut a second set of these and popped only the roofs, really cute! Easy but a great look! Also added Enamel Accents to the door knobs and white gel pen to the windows.
I really pulled papers and embellishments from all around my room! Basic Grey, Glizt, MME, Sassafras, and more! It was fun trying to find stuff that went together...lots of trail and error for little pieces of add ons.
Well I want to keep this a bit on the short side for those that are going to each blog....thanks for coming by and PLEASE come back to see if you have won (lots of candy goes unclaimed because no one comes back to hops, LOL) Next stop is Carolyn Wolff.
Thanks again for stopping by and thank you REGINA for having me on the team and more importantly, I enjoyed so so much getting to know you! Hugs!

Wash Scrub Shower
So at Stuck on U Sketches we have a great die cut challenge to share with you all this time around and it's a pretty perfect one because we've had more rain in April then almost the whole year! Well, close I'd guess! So the challenge? April Showers!
I knew I wanted to think outside the box and also because I felt like I've done the flowers thing lately...and don't have any rain photos. So then I started thinking water and got out some bath time photos (I have a ton!) and went with the "shower" part, but adding some touches that still keep it with the April/Spring theme.
The font and all the cuts other then the ladybug (from Doodlecharms) comes from the Country Life cartridge! A favorite so I was thrilled to finally make some more cuts with it! New ones for me as well! I went a bit nuts with the details so not sure if you can tell but this page took me about 2 days...yikes! Lots of cuts, lots of coloring...lots of everything!
Love this washbasin and washing board cut! I did a little stamping and lots of coloring and inking.
Oh this fun little soap bottle is from Everyday Paper Dolls. Did a few cuts, teeny tiny cutting and some coloring.
And lastly...if we're washing, we need water! And these days you gotta pump it yourself (oh man, can you imagine?) LOL! I've added some punched shapes for a few last touches and another pop of color. The background paper is by Sassafras and the rest is scraps from my stash.
Its a strange thing to love a page but be SO glad its done...Oh the headache I have now! Plus today will be day 2 of taking a Zumba fitness class! Wow...girls...if you need a workout, this is perfect! You can go as fast or as slow as you want. No one else watches you because they are too busy doing their own thing. My class taught at a local church (not my beliefs so I hope they don't start preaching) for FREE! Yes! I am burning about 3x what I would walking...I need that! Ok...thought I'd share! LOL!
Have a WONDERFUL weekend! ~Leah

You Really Are Sew Sweet
Wow, I can NOT believe my 6 months is almost up for The Cutting Cafe! That went by so so quickly! We had the chance to work with a wonderful dress form file that you can find here. I love these and we all know the great trend right now with these images. So you've got to check that out for sure!
I did something style wise a bit different for me. I'm not really the vintage type (what type is that, I don't know but...LOL!) Plus I'm not sure that I 100% succeeded at this either but I tried! =0)
All these pretty papers are a mix of sizes by Webster Pages. The paper for this dress form was from a 6x6 stack. Cute, hun? With the fabric ribbon by Webster as well (both on the dress form and the background.
And this super sweet sentiment from the file cut with a Cuttlebug cut and emboss set. And some blooms, tulle and other fibers.
The lastly a handmade flower. Strangely this flower color didn't photograph, its much better in person and not so...bold. I snuck in some other goodies as well here...
Not only did I try a different style...but I used the dreaded purple! LOL! Ok, I don't dislike all shades of purple...just most of them! hehe! All in all I think turned out alright...
But DO go by The Cafe and see what's going on and I have one more post next week with a giveaway from The Cafe...Yay!!!!

Well I am oh so excited to share this card with you today! Today is an ABC Challenges day and we have for you N for Neutral...neutral isn't so much me so this was a tiny challenge until I found the papers and really just got moving!
We are often very, very lucky to have a great sponsor for our challenge and this cutie comes from Bugaboo. Oh goodness he's a sweetie! He's also printed at the full size which makes him pretty big at almost 4 1/2 inches tall...perfect for a main feature for the card.
This is my first time doing so much paper piecing. The hat, britches, and U were all printed and handout out with designer paper. His boots, shirt, bandana and that really needing to be shaven face were all watercolored using Distress Inks. The mix of painted versus print really makes this amazing in person!
I've also wet embossed with clear powder the woodgrain background with some added Basic Grey letter stickers to say Thanks! I also added some stickers flowers and leaves. Added real and Liquid Pearls and fiber from my stash.
I am very happy how this turned out, mostly because it's going to a Texan girlfriend of mine...when I imagine her hubby...this is exactly him! LOL! Thanks Sandi for being such a great friend! Love ya!
And thank you kindly for coming by...have a wonderful day!

There's about 100 times when I could have started my text for this post but I don't know what always pulled me away and good thing I came back because this goes up in just hours and I had nothing written! Yikes! And I only share that little bit because I know I'm not the only one that does that (more often then not, yes?)
Well today I am super excited that a dear friend of ours at Stuck on U Sketches, Debbie Burns has designed a sketch for our use this week. You can find that sketch at SOUS. Here is what I made following that...
This fun photo is of the hubby and I as newlyweds, about 6 months married on our honeymoon. Here we are in a very exotic nature park on the Big Island in Hawaii. It was an amazing trip and this the only time I got mosquito bites (and how can I blame them? that was one pretty skinny shirt! LOL!)
The very awesome title was cut from a new cart for me, Pack Your Bags. Love that! I did some stamping on that title, which is quickly becoming a thing for me! All the wonderful blooms were cuts from Mothers Day Bouquet. The leaves from Lifes a Beach. The flower centers are a mix of brads, pearls and Flower Soft.
There was so much inking on this page that I looked a mess afterwards! A Mom at school had asked me if I was using iodine. I wasn't prepared for that and had to ask her what that was...I knew but wasn't ready for that! LOL! I said no...just making tropical flowers! LOL! The super cool lobster paper is by Webster Pages and the text an older Summer stack by DCWV.
I love taking inspiration from the sketches and thinking outside the box...so instead of using the circle from the sketch as a circle cut piece of paper or whatever, I used that as how to place my cluster of flowers! Fun, huh?
Hope you like and can't wait for you to play....I'll be visiting you just as soon as you link up! Can't wait! Hugs ~Leah

I Love My Dad
Anyone else feeling the after vacation blues? Well, not me! LOL, since we were sick during Easter break I am actually feeling better now and slightly relieved to have the kids at school. Sad to admit! LOL! Well I am very excited to share this card with you today. I used this set from The Cutting Cafe, fun! There are just a ton of word shaped cards at the shop and these are always a neat variation of the typical card, many of these you can easily cut by hand if you do not have software available. I used the shaped word and added it into a regular card base, so there's an option as well!
I used a DCWV stack Downtown Loft for the gloss background paper and the mustache pattern. You can find that image here.
I bought a random set of journaling cards from the Smash line and cut him out...he looks just like my Daddy! LOL!
I've added a bunch of small details to the card. The embossing and inking in a metallic bronze and also brown and white. I've hand cut this small banner and added a tiny punched heart and brown and white twine bow. Also added some simple faux stitching (because I never can work my sewing machine).
I have to admit that I ended up in loving this! I don't' know why...well yes I do...reminds me of my Dad! Any mustache does! LMBO! I am going to save this and give it to him on Father's Day.
Thanks for checking in...see you! ~Leah

Oh Happy it's almost Easter! I can't believe it's almost here! I'd love to say how excited I am however I'm afraid this is the one holiday that is escaping my normal enthusiasm. Last week my little girl was sick and we had a break from that and had fun hanging around the house since it's break from school. We had a couple day trips planned as a family and it's been forever since we've done anything it seems! And then...I get sick! Yikes! It could be worse but it's not something that will let me leave the house so hopefully I'll get better quick and get a day in of fun...plus, I've done NOTHING for Easter...and as not to leave too much for the Easter Bunny to do, I need to go out at some point!
Whoa, got chatty there and almost forgot why I'm here...LOL...today is reveal day, grand reveal day of another fab Die Cut Challenge at SOUS! hehe! And we've got for you today...
Spring is in the Air
Isn't that a wonderful challenge? I don't care if you've got snow or warm weather, or what...Spring sounds good! I can't wait to see what you all make, I look forward to visiting your blogs! And I'm excited to share that the super talented and super cool Nanne has taken some serious time to put together these handmade blooms to share as blog candy for the month of April at SOUS. How very generous! So play and win! =0)
So as you know there are so many die's on the market. We tend to use electronic machines at the blog but that doesn't mean you can not also use metal dies in other machines. So many companies are now making stamps with matching dies, my biggest scrappy splurge is Papertrey Ink and these are new for me so that's what I chose to use!
I wanted to take the challenge a bit literally and bright some blooms into the sky. So I had first designed a card with what I wanted to look like flowers being tossed into the air, I did that with Cricut Craft Room but nothing was turning out right. Argh. So I started thinking about creating the sky and pulled out my Hero Art cloud stamp and the went with a clothes line of blooms...
Another easel card because I adore them...
Here is a close up of the blooms. Stamps and dies are Rosie Posie by PTI. As well as the banner and clothes line from Banner Builder (something I use a lot) and the sentiment was pulled from a tab stamp set (name?). Inks are by Colorbox.
I also snuck this photo in of the kissing stamp technique! I used another full size Hero Arts stamp, the plaid in a blue gray ink and touched that with the cloud stamp...you can see the subtle added texture. I added a few Martha Stuart butterflies, gems and bakers twine.
A guess being trapped at home has made me a bit chatty...say a prayer for me that I am better so I can enjoy the last weekend of Easter vacation! See you soon...

Just For You
Well it's April! Exciting...and awful, all at the same time! This is my last month at The Cutting Cafe, hard to believe but the time is almost up! Eek! Hopefully I'll join them again sometime. But it's not over yet...so onto the card! We had the opportunity to work with a super fun set called Fun With Jars. Just wait til you see everything that comes with this...many darling and super fun things to work with. I certainly would think this is a set that you could use 100 times or more! =0)
Here's a close up of the jar. I did some distressed stamping with a tiny polka dot, the small shape and sentiment are from Papertrey Ink (that was a mess up as I thought I had but didn't print something from the file, duh!) The frame is a label stamp also by PTI. I used 3 different ribbon's from my stash to add as a big pop of color and embellishment! I did some outlining in a chunky clear glitter, very pretty and fun!
And a surprise! Treats too! Who doesn't love something sweet, come on already! This was super simple by adding a brad to the circle on the top of the jar (of course, nothing is simple for me because I put everything together before I realized I needed to add the brad so had to go through all those layers, yikes!)
The paper line is available at Hobby Lobby, it's a baking themed stack! Cute!
Well gosh, I've been busy posting lately and there's no slowing me down so I'll be back in a day or so...see you then! Hope you are having a great week! We LOVE being on Easter vacation...doing lots of nothing!

Congrats and please leave a comment here with an email address to contact you! You have a week to claim your prize. Thanks! Oh...so maybe you won't want to see the card? LOL! But for the rest of you....here it is....
I've used a bunch of papers from my stash, the main prints are from a Spring stack by DCWV a few seasons ago. The solid card stock is AC. When I was looking through challenge sites trying to decide what to make, with all the Easter challenges I decided to do something Spring meets Easter meets thank you card! LOL! The sweet chickie in a basket cut is from Joys of the Season, grass from Create a Critter and eggs from Doodlecharms. Sentiment was computer generated.
I'm having a small cloud obsession lately so knew I'd throw a couple on when I saw Little Reg Wagon's challenge. LOL! My little tiny ladybugs were created with punches. And I am really loving easel cards as well so was happy to see that challenge at My Time to Craft!

Magic Is A Lifetime With You
Today is post day at ABC Challenges! Yay! And we are at M...for Magical! Oh fun, right? So where do you go with this one though. I don't have many stamped images but I can only imagine what is out there that has that magical feel to it, I've seen some. So when I was brain storming ideas I started thinking of images, maybe what Cricut cartridge I wanted to use and went to look at Once Upon a Princess...
Once I started getting ideas the next part was to find a photo...kinda hard. But when I came across this one of my little girl, maybe around a year old? I thought it was not only darling and silly but perfect for this! I also have come across this technique of printing off more then one copy of the single photo and thought I'd try it. The antique finished photo measures 3x5 and the small black and whites are 2x2.
You all know I am NOT a fan of titles...but I think this might be my best job yet! Magic and You are both from Hannah Montana carts, Lifetime is Once Upon a Princess, letters stickers are Echo Park. I've added pearls, brads and glitter to the title and I think its really neat!
Now I wanted to create an entirely magical scene...the rainbow...and this beautiful girl! Oh she's just touchable with her white flocking and thick glitter accents. I cut a small black sliver and added a black pearl to create the eye.
The stars are embossed with many folders from my stash and the flourishes are Sizzix dies. I've also added some punched and glittered hearts. Some things on the page and glue straight to the page, some are popped so there is a lot of dimension on this layout! Not to mention the embossed clouds or all the inking!
Ack! Photo heavy...wasn't she? Sorry, but this was too good not to share each angle...I'd have you come over and take a peek, but who's got the time these days! LOL!
Thank you oh so much for visiting and do hope you'll find some time to create some magic and share in our challenge at ABC!
