Christmas Gifts ~SOUS Nov 30 DieCut Challenge, Gifts~

Christmas Gifts

It's the last day of November! Ack! I don't think it hit me until just now that this year is quickly coming to an end! I mean I know Christmas is near, my house was decorated the weekend before Thanksgiving but the thought of this year ending...it will take me a few months to get used to writing 2013! So strange!

Well, let's roll into Christmas, shall we? I have a layout to share today for our current DIE CUT challenge at Stuck on U Sketches which is...

 Gifts!

How merry! Gift giving is one of the biggest blessings of this holiday season for sure! Even if the budget isn't the grandest this year...it's not about how much you give but trying to give at all!

These fun gifts are from Birthday Bask. A cartridge I borrowed while away at my scrapping retreat! Love how perfect the mousie was for a holiday page! The paper is Imaginisce Cottage Christmas and the holly print is by Basic Grey. Solids are American Crafts.

The snowflakes are from Going Places, Graphically Speaking and Joys of the Season. I really need more snowflakes...I've used the same ones for years now! Here you can see the layering in the background with multiple border punches. And also I did twine, Basic Grey and buttons for the snowflake centers. Plus, a great amount of Stickles!

Here we come December.....woot woot! I am SO ready! Here comes 24/7 Christmas music!

Hello Always ~SOUS Layout Sketch Nov 23~

Hello Always

I just realized I must have made some mistake somewhere and did the wrong blog post so I'm a day late posting! Oopsy! Well at least I got the SOUS post scheduled correctly =)

So here is the sketch I designed for this week at Stuck on U Sketches. Hope you like!

So I have another wedding layout to share with you! My anniversary is in about 2 weeks so I've got to jam on finishing this album up!

Love the title and the shine  ;)

This pretty paper collection is by American Crafts, Dear Lizzy. I think there's another name but don't recall. I added in the black matting since there is so much dark tones in the photos. I've added different flowers from my stash and some chipboard pieces as well. It was a simple layout but I adore the colors.

Ok, gosh I think I'm going to leave it simple today as well...short and sweet!

Can't wait to go home and see my goodies from Black Friday! I got a great set of large snowflake stamps that I'm looking forward to using!

Hope you all had an incredible Thanksgiving!!!!!

Celebrate ~SOUS Card Sketch November 21, 2012~

Celebrate

Hi guys! How is everyone! I am SO excited that it is Thanksgiving week! The kids are out of school and with my husband working so much this week, that means some family time...so we are packed up and heading to my Mom's house! That means lots of cooking and fun...it's always fun and crazy when my family gets together!

I have a card sketch I designed for SOUS this week, hope that you like it! What our team has done is so different...lots of ideas!

I've used a new collection in my stash, Pink Paislee- Soiree. So pretty! With the swiss dots embossed background. And some layered goodies...

The Girls Paperie for the fibers and buttons from my stash, a Petaloo flower and some punched branches. Easy, kinda fast but love how bright and happy this is!

Well I am going to dash...I have a friend visiting and her I am blogging! LOL!

Thanks for coming by and see you all Friday for another SOUS post!

Happy Thanksgiving, I'll try and make as many visits as I can this week!

Owl Card ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge Owl~

Owl

Hiya friends! Last weekend when I was away at my scrapbooking retreat I was able to get a ton done (okay, not really a ton but not too bad either! =)
One thing I worked on was this little owl card for our newest Die Cut Challenge for Stuck on U Sketches. I was so lucky that one of my friends had a ton of Cricut cartridges that I didn't have, so I had a good time using images I wasn't used to (or bored of, as I kinda am with everything...ya know?)
So this cutie came from Wild Card 2 and the branches from Cake Basics.

I used Echo Park Times & Seasons for the pattern paper (yellow from EP A Boys Life) and PTI kraft for the base. My always used Martha branch punch for the leaves. And then just a bit of embossing and spray inks for added texture.

And Glossy Accents to make his glasses more realistic. I adore how that turned out (though note to self, add a TON of adhesive as covering the paper in GA will warp when dried). Not too badly though!

Hope you guys enjoyed this little bad boy! And see ya all soon!

Family Photos ~SOUS Original Sketch November 9~

Family Photos

Friday! Friday! Can't believe it's Friday! Yay baby...that means just a day and I get some time away! Woo Hoo! I am beyond excited...last year when I went on my scrapbooking retreat I did get stuff done but not so much, this year I really want to stay motivated and get as much done as I can, that is without having a whole room of stuff with me!

Well today is a fabulous sketch reveal at SOUS and since I am hostess with the mostest then this one is by your's truly! Hope you like!
My first design was a layout titled Monkey in the Middle, I had vines going across the top of the page and a monkey hanging where the title circle was. All things were going smoothly until I realized all the vines on the page would cover the people in the photos. So...I didn't do that. LOL.

 Here's my sketch...

  And my layout...

I used the beautiful Crate Paper Portrait Collection. All the papers are from this line. The small shape here was a die collection by Papertrey Ink, Fabulous Frames (I added a S from an alpha die by them for our families last name) and then stamped a background stamp and clear embossed, this is a garage sale find and is by Close to my Heart. Key and locket are Jolee's.

Here is a mix of things! A metal word embellishment, diecut title is Gypsy Font, camera stamp by PTI Shutterbug Special. Flower and leave dies by PTI as well.

I started with a Basic Grey sticker which I then backed with paper to add a little color. White embossed the numbers and wrote the family members in each photo...starting with my little girl who was in almost EVERY photo that evening! LOL!

Ok friends...I'll wrap it up! Thanks so much for coming by and hope you all have as great a weekend as I plan on having! =)

Memories With You ~Nov 7 Card Sketch~

Memories With You

Hi all! I am so excited this week is moving along...the quicker the days go, the sooner I have the weekend away! I am way excited about my only full weekend away without kids for this whole year! =)
I am sure you are all feeling me on that, huh?
Also, I'm here showing off my new card for our first card sketch at Stuck on U Sketches for this month. Our card sketch is by the always wonderful Sandi C! Head on over and check it out...

I decided on a simple design showcasing some new stamps that I got. I really like the mix of the simple design but with the bold and dark stamped images. It's a neat and different project for me.

Gosh, I have no idea what this paper line is. I thought I would recall the name but I am pretty sure this was a long ago purchase when I started crafting...maybe something by Basic Grey? This darling house is from Pink Paislee Hometown Summer (love) and the banner is Making Memories Dilly Dally. Not sure of my sentiment and the flowers came in a set I picked up on the cheap at a craft even and there was no name on the packaging. I added some blue buttons and glossy accents to the windows on the house and then sent this little thing to my husband's grandparents...just to let them know that I was thinking of them...

Ok, be back shortly with my Friday post...can't wait! =)

Fall ~SOUS Fall or Autumn Word Diecut Challenge~

Fall

Inspired by all the wonderful word art on the market in home decor from vintage metal letters to canvas designs and all the fonts available on the computer our newest Die Cut Challenge at Stuck on U Sketches seemed a great fit for the season!

Our challenge...to use the WORD Fall or Autumn in your paper-crafting projects! Easy right? And our incredible Design Team has so many great ideas for you as well....so head over and check them out!

I also have to share with you some Halloween goodies I made for the kids Halloween carnival at school! Yum! The more you do with the goodies the more class points the kids get, plus having them individually wrapped and ready to sell! I had to refuse my kids buy the stuff I made because that just seemed kinda pointless...LOL! Ok...but before all that....getting off track here...

I've used some dollar stamps from Michaels, simply stamping on printed paper by Basic Grey. I've used metal letter dies from Papertrey Ink along with a spider and pumpkins from Cricut cart: Mini Monsters. Fence is from Paperdoll Dress Up.

This wonderful honeycomb embossing folder is a new purchase for me and is by Cuttlebug! So happy to finally own this design, now to find the chicken wire one! =)  I added a few extra punches leaves to the pumpkins but otherwise kept things simple!

 And the goody cups....
The same stamped images punched and layered over a white inked and embossed spider web. The Oreo's were splattered with chocolate and a few candy corns added in. I think simple but really cute and something perfect for the parents that just wanted a tiny treat for the kids.

And candy bars! Extra yum! Because of timing I kept all these treats simple, the spider and bats are Cuttlebug dies and the large leave an EK Success punch. All the labels were cut from Once Upon a Princess and sized on my Gypsy before cutting, each were stamped with a different background stamp as well!

Yikes! Another long post...hope you made it through...

 See ya soon! ~Leah

My last DT project for ABC Challenges...

Thanks

Thanks, which is a very fitting word...

Our newest challenge at ABC Challenges is also starting us at the beginning of the alphabet with A for Appreciation! So we want to see all your thank you's for this challenge.

So the word thanks...for my card of course but it's also fitting as this is my last day as a Design Team member for ABC! I will certainly miss the team, the talent and being a part of everything...though I certainly hope to still join them when I can! There is so much work that goes into leading a challenge blog, organizing and setting things up, so I really appreciate Julie single handedly doing so! And wish her and the rest of the team the best...which by the way...there is a DT call which you can find here. Check it out if you are interested and apply!

We are also lucky enough for 2 awesome sponsors, Stampfairy (image below) and In2stamps. Thanks to both companies for all the support!

This little card turned out just too cute! Originally my idea was to clear emboss a large background cloud stamp on top of the blue pattern paper (from my stash, something ancient) but then I was concerned about drawing the string for the balloon that I moved..so next idea was the embossing. Still cute. This was also a scraps card as I had saved this negative from a shape I had cut for a card posted a bit ago...I don't always save scraps but love this line by Basic Grey, Olivia. Glad I saved it, made for a cute and quick card!

The paper piecing was quite easy, though a bit time consuming to cut. Her body was printed in beige, the balloon, dress and pink for her bows and shoes were all hand cut (yikes!) I colored her hair, cheeks and some shadowing on her flesh with colored pencils. Really like how this looks in person!

To finish this off I used some black hemp, a Papertrey Ink tag and stamp (thanks), added some mini Prima's, pearls and punched leaves and some black faux stitching.

The sweet spot for this was having my little guy sleeping on the couch so I had some quiet time to assemble this before the other kiddo's needed picking up! =)

Well that's it for me...sadly! Again, thanks to ABC for having me...will miss designing for you!
