Welcome Christmas ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge Snowflakes~

Welcome Christmas

Oh I sincerely hope you all had an incredible Christmas! Myself, I am a bit in shock that it is here and gone so quickly. I think as we get older, or maybe it's more of having a family that all the family activities, the baking, the gatherings, etc make the time go by much more quickly. I wish I could just sit and savor the days.

I haven't been much in a blogging mood lately and really haven't crafted too much this season past classroom gifts for the teachers and Christmas cards. I did manage to make those this year. The blogging part though has been pushed off. Thank goodness for Stuck on U Sketches or I'd be a complete loss...

Here is my card for our SNOWFLAKE, Die Cut Challenges at SOUS

I'll admit that I may have thought this a better idea in theory then in actual terms. I do love how simple this card is but with the detail. But the time it took to trim and pop the center pieces of the snowflakes...oh my! Not for the weary, I tell you! =)

In this photo below you can also see that the foreground was embossed with a falling snow embossing folder. I would have loved the have embossed the top portion but with the cuts and delicacy of that it would have been too hard.

Stuck on U Sketches Layout Challenge, December 20

Ok, I'm not even going there about the date...I mean, we are all thinking it, right?

So I'll move away from my holiday terror, LOL, and share a rather clean and simple layout. Unfortunately the papers didn't photograph but some of them have a gloss. I thought of adding more detail but surprised myself at liking this the way it was...
The photo is from last Christmas Eve and is my sister closest in age to myself, her daughter and hubby. Love this picture! Love them!

Today's layout was created using Nanne's sketch for Stuck on U Sketches...our team, as usual, did a killer job! Lots of variation!

So I'm being a lazy one today and not going to go search out the name of this paper line. Not something I normally use so I can't even think! =(
My snowflake die's were cut using my Silhouette and the rest was pretty simple. Buttons and twine.

Hope you like and don't mind my rather quicky post! But there's Christmas to work on people! Get moving!

 xoxo, Leah

Handmade Is Best Christmas ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge~

Handmade Is Best Christmas

We have another great day for you at Stuck on U Sketches! First we have another Die Cut Challenge...ornaments! I was hoping to make some 3D ornaments this year but it hasn't happened yet! Maybe this weekend but good intentions don't always happen so we'll have to see! This season has been zipping by for us and at a fast rate, so we'll see what we can do! I made this card a month back at my scrappy retreat (when I actually made all my December projects). Love this little baby so much that I may keep this guy and save to enter in the fair next year...a winner?

Oh gosh...and today is another important day as our newest Design Team members for our Die Cut team are joining us for the first time today! Exciting stuff!

Nanne and I are THRILLED to have you girls join us!

I created this little shaped card using my Silhouette Designer Edition software. Making first a second layer so I could glitter around the edges! I scoped out paper from almost every other girl at my retreat looking for something for the background! Hard I tell you when you are not at home! But came up with this and did a little text stamping in the background.

This chunky glitter is crazy gorgeous in person...a little container from a local craft store. Love. And my sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Enjoy The Journey ~SOUS December 6 Sketch~

Enjoy The Journey

Can I say how much I adore today's sketch for Stuck on U my bestie, Nanne! Girl, LOVE this one! And even better...our team killed it with this challenge (well, really...what's new? They are the best every time!) Anyways, you better run over there and check it all out!

First off, it was really terribly difficult to actually decide to scrap a photo of myself...and one without a shirt. LMBO! This photo was from last Summer while we were in Yosemite. We packed up lunches and gear and took our bikes out until we found a perfect river side spot to hang out. Great memories!

Secondly, I have got to share the literal laugh I got at adding that stick...practically perfect in everyway. Cute sticker but damn near hilarious when you add it to a layout about yourself! LOL! Still cracks me up!

I've had a new change in our household...I had a baby!!!! Okay, I didn't "have" it and he doesn't belong to me but I've started part time watching a darling little year old baby boy. It's been great...I am such a baby person! However I forget how babies force you to slow down and how hard it is to get stuff done. But worth it! =)

 Have a great weekend gals!

Authentic & Rad ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge Numbers~

Authentic & Rad

I am just in love with this photo of my oldest son. You know how it goes...we all think no other kid can compare with our own. Hehe. Well I just figure that life is hard enough on it's own, we all need our own built-in cheerleader. Thanks to mom's everywhere!

I've created this layout for the newest Die Cut Challenge at Stuck on U Sketches! Numbers! What I had really thought of is something advent but that didn't kids are 4, 7 and 9 and I've never really done anything yet and really, really want to. But I need to be better prepared...maybe next year? LOL!

I wanted to share something cool about this layout that maybe wasn't obvious from the get-go. All the pieces in black are one large die cut piece. I started with the number die cut image, already to go in the Silhouette store and then added in the larger square. That's when I had the idea to also add a square for the photo as well. I then thought about a title so found these words in the store and added those. Lastly, and "out of the box" LOL, I added the banner piece towards the bottom of the page. I really wish I could of popped that entire thing off the page...but geez, can you imagine the job that would be trimming up wee pieces of foam around all that (not thanks!)

A few more details would be the star cluster stamping on the yellow chevron and the glitter added to some of the printed paper (sadly, not sure that comes across in this photo). I Distress Stickled the number 9 since that's how old my son is now.

Believe In Yourself ~SOUS November 22 Sketch~

Believe In Yourself

 Hello! Hello!
Happy week before Thanksgiving! Sorry but I'm simply in shock that it's around the corner because I am still up to my eyes in Halloween candy (which is a total and complete lie, however I know that IS the case in many households...I throw the candy away in less then a week normally. I know, let me quote my kids on this one "your mean!") It does just seem like yesterday we were knock-knock-knocking on doors begging for candy that mom won't let them eat. =) Well regardless...turkey dinner is coming and I couldn't be happier (or hunger)!

I've created a sketch for you all and am simply blown away with our Stuck on U Sketches Design Team and their incredible take on this sketch! You girls W O W me! =)

Here's what I made...

I added this photo to show that I had lifted these frames off the page but also had backed the frame with vellum which still allowed a peek of the borders that run behind them. You think after all the work die cutting that I wouldn't want to hide any and this was a great little way to show a bit more.

 Okay lovelies..have a great weekend!
I am a little bit on the crazy side and going camping at the beach (yes, let me say it for you....BRRR!) then coming home, recollecting and then heading to my mommy's house for a few days for the holiday! Really looking forward to lots of family time and a serious OD on mashed potatoes and gravy...oh the gravy! =)

Sketch and Die Cut Challenge for Stuck on U Sketches

Always With Gratitude

So I have a double share today since I wasn't able to get my last SOUS sketch up. I did do it so thought I'd just share in one long post today =) So get comfy, there's a few photos coming...

First how about our newest Die Cut Challenge at SOUS....FOOD! Yum-o! For the record, that's a wheat eat wheat (and it rhymes so that's like double points), if you were wondering my "food" LOL!

I've done lots of little details on this card though the main design is simple. The entire front and back were stamped. Then stamped again in a text print and dusted with Perfect Pearls.

I covered the entire wheat branch with Versamark and embossed along with the sentiment in a gold embossing powder. Then in clear embossed a woodgrain stamp on vellum over a ledger background paper (same at sentiment strip and back circle panel).

I don't even mind my uneven stamping with the wood board stamp...just adds to the feel ;)

Happy Together

This layout was for last week's sketch. I wasn't able to get it done on time but since I did create the sketch, thought maybe I should still play =)
This page makes me happy because these photos...Jordyn and Cody are pretty much always together when they are home. Here Jordyn was reading Cody some stories at bedtime all snuggled up in momma's bed. Too sweet. I was excited to scrap this...

Thanks Fall Card ~Stuck on U Sketches and Whimsical Wednesday Hop~

Thanks Fall Card

I am so crazy excited to share this project with you today! Oh my goodness...this is maybe one of my favorite cards, ever!
And for a fun hop that Stuck on U Sketches gals are doing with Whimsical Wednesday! With a wonderful Give Thanks, Fall Theme! We hope that you will join us and check out the wonderful goodies Whimsical Wednesday is offering for our hop!

You should of arrived here from Tereese Sblog. Blog hop in particular starts tonight and until midnight EST on Sunday.

I leave tomorrow...yes FINALLY, woohoo! I get to leave on almost 4 days at a scrapbooking retreat. Pretty much the single thing that I get to do each year and the one and only thing that I really truly look forward to! I have lots of projects designed and ready to go and can't wait to create! I share this because I won't have as much time to hop as I may like but will do my best to visit you ladies! So thank you for coming by!
But I am sure you understand...4 days, scrapping, incredible meals prepared for us in our own house in the California Sierra's...and, did I mention...NO KIDS! This will actually be the longest I've ever been away from the kids! In their whole lives! =)

Ok, sorry... I got a little about back to the card? LOL!

I started with a Lori Whitlock card design and altered that a bit using the Silhouette design software. I shaped mats for the pattern paper (background of the card) and again for the background, I designed a shape that looks like a hat (front portion) instead of just a square shape that would allow no pattern paper to be laid on the bottom portion of the card. (You can find this cut here on the Silhouette store). Here's the actual card so you can see a bit more of how I altered it.

I used a leaf cut to make my own window piece. In the background I used some ledger paper and then clear embossed a woodgrain stamp onto vellum and added that overtop. All adhered to the bottom piece and the leaf window popped up.

The polka dot paper in the background had a bit of glitter on it, so I actually added those small spots of glitter to the yellow paper. And then some more here and there...brought the whole card together! =)

Give Thanks Banner ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge Banner~

Give Thanks Banner

 Hello Hello and Happy Halloween!
I hope that everyone had a safe and fun night last night...lots of goodies and great memories! I know that I alone would celebrate every holiday just as an excuse for the photos! LOL!
We have a fabulous new Die Cut Challenge at Stuck on U Sketches...

This is simply is the longest I've ever taken making a project! Days of stamping, inking, putting together flowers, making the rosettes. OMGosh! But worth it in the end...I've never made anything like this so totally worth it!

The kraft background was stamped, then edges inked. The oranges were clear embossed with a woodgrain stamp. The rosettes all inked. Then the circle centers- four layers there! The canvas circle also stamped! I also generously sprayed everything with Perfect Pearls and Mr Huey sprayers.

Flowers, flowers, flowers...42 of them to be exact =) Here's a good picture of some of the stamping...

Love To You ~My LAST Artful Delight DT Post!~

Love To You

Oh my, oh my! Today is my LAST post for my Artful Delight Design Team! I will certainly miss creating with these gals and the fantastic sketches by Debbie! Thanks so much for having me!

My last creation using the October scrapbook kit! I chose to keep all the blooms included in the kit to use in one layout! I used a die cut chevron background (to match the wood embellies) for a little more interest to the background and then added a few banner styled strips of paper for more color at the bottom of the page. One printed paper sheet included in the kit had these great leaves, so I cut a bunch and added them along with a few punches little branches to my flowers. I've accented a few things here and there with Distress Stickles (like the leaves and wooden chevron).

The photo is of one of my younger sister and her boyfriend...oh, change that! There's been a recent engagement...fiancĂ©! =)

Again! Thanks for Leanne and Debbie for having me design for them! Certainly a great treat!

Chocolate vs. Vanilla ~SOUS Sketch October 25~

Chocolate vs. Vanilla

 Hello Hello!
Anyone else have a crazy weekend coming up? Well, for me it's been a crazy week getting ready for the Halloween carnival. Lots of lots of goodies for the bake sale! Cookies, cakes and an autumn trail mix. I'll show that to you all this coming week when I have time to blog all that...

But for now, how about a layout! For the newest sketch to close out our October's my take on Nanne's sketch for Stuck on U Sketches

How about this awesome background? Need any reason to make sure you have software for your diecutting machines? Instead of buying background...make your own! I just chose this set of ice creams and made my own background! =)

Paper Studio Sugar and Spice (red, sprinkles, choco chip)
Crate Paper (hearts, colored stripes)
Die Cuttings~
Sil Store; ice creams set (for background and single cone) for free font for title
chipboard and Stickles

Okay a pretty short post for me but I got to get working!!!!!!!

Thank you to ALL the folks that have applied for our Design Team us a workout choosing teams! =)

This Is The Good Life ~Artful Delight~

This Is The Good Life

I am so excited to share this Fall inspired project using the amazing elements in the October scrapbook kit from Artful Delight! This thick burlap ribbon is way, way cool and pretty much can be used almost alone in a's that neat! =) But I went ahead and added a few more things! =) Like the chipboard and some stickers included in the kit!

I've been getting ready for the Halloween carnival at school this coming Sunday. Today started my tags for one of the treat bags and then got the cookie dough ready to make later this week. I have got to stay organized if I think I can get it all done this week! LOL!

And headed to church tonight for our weekly Bible Academy class.  A late night for the kids which always means a fussy Wednesday but worth it! =)

I added Crackle Accents to all the chippy leaves too!

Ok girls, a little Tuesday quickie from me! This is my second to LAST project for my term on the Artful Delight DT! Wow...

Fall Mini Album ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge Autumn~

Fall Mini Album

So pretty much there is SO much photos here that otherwise I'm not going to talk much...otherwise you are going to be here all day! But because this was such a huge project for me, I wanted to show off as much as I could with the photos. Luckily I sat one day and spent a few hours designing this and then some time later put this together. Normally I craft and want to get it done in one day but this project certainly did not come together in one day! =)

This is for our current Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge...Autumn Goodies, so anything Fall themed! =)

I sized this entire album so that I can take 4x6 photos and slide them directly into each pocket. So I would have no trimming to do or anything like that. I take so many photos each season that I thought this would save a lot of time to have them all in one special place!

I plan on adding some journaling here on the back...

My Minds Eye
and assorted kraft cardstock
all of pieces were used up from my stash! go me!
