Where have I been?

Ok ladies, I have been really absent! Sorry! But let me share a little peek of one of the reason's why...
long story short, my hubby gets a new Harley...I get to redo my scrapbook room! Yay! I can tell you which one is more exciting, if you don't know! LOL!

We went to camp a week ago and I have meant to share the photos but am having computers problems and can't upload my camera right now! Bummer!

Then, as if all this isn't enough...sick again! Both little ones have colds and my daughter started running another fever (twice this month alone) and so we took her to the doctor and she has a double ear infection. We're also watching Cody closely to make sure he doesn't have pink eye, we think it may just be drainage from his congestion. Gross!

Okay friends...off I go! There's lots to do to get ready for Friday's big blog hop at Stuck on U Sketches!

2 Families Become 1 ~SOUS Sketch Layout~

2 Families Become 1

Happy Friday! As you visit me here today, I'll be on the road for a family church camp in the Santa Cruz mountains, California! A beautiful redwood forest close to the beach. Talk about being in the Lord's temple, I'm excited and equally nervous how my 3 year old is going to do! LOL!

Well this layout marks my very last from my wedding album and this one just may be my favorite! Today's sketch challenge for Stuck on U Sketches by my bestie, Nanne is just awesome! A very easy sketch to use! And the girls did incredible projects...OH MY!

Since I am running late to get this show on the road...I'm going to keep the text at a minimum, not easy for a chatty girl like me!
You can see most the details for yourself but I'd like to point out how incredible the inked edges turned out with the glitter paper...the combo was just the neatest!

 Ok, here's the deets...

Paper~ Recollections Today Tomorrow Forever, black cardstock.
DieCut~(blue woodgrain shape) Cricut Once Upon a Princess
Inks~ Stormy Sky and Walnut Stain Distress Inks (Banner; Broken China, Worn Lipstick, Shabby Shutters)
Embellies~ Canvas Corp (Hobby Lobby) canvas, metal dies; Banner Builder- Papertrey Ink.
Basic Grey canvas tag, Cricut Cindy Loo for letter dies, stickers Echo Park, Heart stickers Walmart, buttons and twine from my stash. Smash by AC and another Papertrey die.

 There was a lot... =)

Well, I am outtie! I'll share photos from my weekend next week! I'd also like to put a shout out for my best friend and her wife delivery their first baby any MOMENT! =)

Jack's Birthday ~SOUS Card Sketch Jan 16~

Jack's Birthday

 Hi friends! Happy Hump day!
I hope you are all doing well...and healthy!
Oh my, the cold and flu season has already been really tough on our house as we're onto another cold!
Ack! Achoo!
I was able to get a card made and luckily took a quick photo but I didn't turn out so well, hope my editing makes it a wee better.

My card today is for our current card sketch at SOUS designed by Ms. Nanne. It's a good one!

I also had a great time mixing up my DCWV stacks for this...

Papers ~ The Celebration Stack (banner, birthday ticket and red mat)
The Great Vacation (car, plaid, road sign)
Embellies~ brads, button, American Crafts twine, and Webster Pages letter stickers
Embossing~ Cuttlebug, Swiss Dots and Stars
 Ink~ Distress Ink, Walnut Stain

 Thanks for visiting...see you Friday!

2 Day is Gr8 ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge, Switch a Roo~

2 Day is Gr8

Oh, this is an exciting day!!!!!!!
Since I started crafting in late 2007 I have been using only my Cricut Expression, then my Imagine machine, which I rarely use. Too lazy for the amount of trouble shooting always required for that.
Well this Christmas Santa surprised me with a Silhouette Cameo! Holy Jingle Bells!
 So happy!
Days of looking online for images to get, playing and upgrading the software and here's my first creation!
(oh my gosh...legions better then the crap I did with the Cricut in the beginning, LOL!)

And, what a great something to share for our newest Die Cut Challenge at Stuck on U Sketches!

Our super fun challenge.... Switch a Roo!
Use a die cut in place of part of your title! How neat! Need ideas? Check out what our team created!

I started with this background "confetti" cut from the Sihouette store and knew immediately I wanted to do a background and this idea hit me! =)

Our designers at SOUS this month had an extra challenge of trying to use up scraps. So I was able to pull some out to create the rainbow background and the rest of the elements on the page.

Papers~ American Crafts (textured), the rest randomness from my scrap collection
Stamps~ Papertrey Ink- Banner Builder and die (toothpicks added to make my own flags)
Punches~ Martha Stuart butterflies
Embellies~ buttons and brads

An easy but time consuming project...and fun too! But one of those "easy" ones that totally trashed my crafty space! LOL!

 Ok, thanks for visiting...

You Hold My Heart ~SOUS Jan 4 Sketch~

You Hold My Heart

Oh my goodness, I'm so thrilled to be sharing the layouts I've designed this month for Stuck on U Sketches. These are the last two projects I made for my now completed wedding album. I'll share it with you after that last page is shared though, so you have to wait a little longer! =(

I adore the sketch and am very excited to share it, I rotated the sketch but stayed pretty true to the design.

As I mentioned earlier this week, I will be trying a new way of doing my text here and how I share the details of my projects. I just thought it was maybe time to switch things up. It also has to do with me getting better and keeping a notebook that I jot down what I'm using as I'm making a project...since anyone that's been following me for awhile will know that I often forget what I used! hehe!

A bit of a bummer that the beautiful glittered printed paper didn't photograph...so imagine lots of shine! All the flowers are glittery!

And here is that rotated sketch! =)

My project details~

Paper~ Recollections- Today Tomorrow Forever (adore the layers of prints! the woodgrain florals are amazing!)
Embellies~ Prima- Say It In Crystals, Websters Page Trim- Hollywood, and The Girls Paperie brads- Elise.
Flowers~ Petaloo, Recollections
Stamps and Dies~ Papertrey Ink, alpha die (hi) and Fabulous Frames (stamp, sentiment, die)

A couple more details, the fussy cut title piece was also stamped with a flourish and dusted with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls. And lastly, there's a tiny scroll on the page where I've written a little love note to my husband...this is also the very last page in the wedding album so I thought that was fitting.

Have a wonderful weekend!

My project is a wee different from the sketch but obviously inspired by it!

I'm thinking of doing things a bit differently this year with my blogging and so I may as well start now. Normally I do a good of chatting with written details of what I used. I think I'll try some posts with more of a list of products and see how I like that.
