You Are My Sunshine ~SOUS Layout Sketch March 29~

You Are My Sunshine

I simply can't believe another month has slipped by. It's going to be Summer before we know it and I'm going to have my kids all day long...yikes! LOL! Hopefully we'll find lots to do and it won't be too tough! =)

Well we have another sketch challenge at Stuck on U Sketches and I'm sharing my loose interpretation of it! Normally I follow sketches a bit better then this but I was certainly inspired and went with it...

To keep with the sketch and the stripes running on the page, I decided to draw in some "borders". In the whispy white reflecting the clouds on the page. I was inspired by the sketch and the lines as to where my embellishments should go, so that's another way to view a sketch and use it!

Papers~
Echo Park Dots & Stripes- Concrete small dots B side(base)
Echo Park Dots & Stripes- Lemon Drop small dots (sun)
Echo Park Dots & Stripes- Teal large dot, A Boys Life- Rambunctious (clouds)
Echo Park Little Boy- Buttons B side (title)
Walmart black card stock
Die Cuts~
Silhouette Cameo, 5 clouds, sun, title
Embellies~
buttons
American Crafts twine, blue and red
pearls by Craftaroo

I gotta say about this layout. I really enjoyed creating it. Design and detail are more on the simple side but I guess with the color and die cuts this page still really pops. It was great to be able to create and even better that this wasn't a page that took all day to make! It's nice to be able to scrapbook different styles when you are in the mood.

Thanks for stopping in! Happy Friday!

Half Moon Bay ~Artful Delight Guest Designer~

Half Moon Bay

Sad! My last day Guest Designing for Artful Delight! Boo!
I had the best time, ever. Creating with their March kit, makes me excited to see what they put together next! Bet it will be awesome as always!

My page today is something a little different. And honestly, different is cool man! =) You dig? (and no, that was not a pun since it's a beach photo! LOL!) Love the neutrals and pops of color with this collection.

I've done a mix of using the stickers from the set and layering it with punched circles. I love the mix of shapes with the hexagon, circles and die cut flowers included in the kit.

I also mixed the sticker borders with the prints as well, and fussy cut doily.

Again, thanks to Leanne and Debbie for having me! It was a pleasure!

Thanks for visiting everyone! See ya back on Friday, okay? =)

Welcome Baby ~SOUS Baby Stroller Die Cut Challenge~

Welcome Baby

Whoa, another major weekend! Tonight I am hosting a Movie and Dessert night for my daughter's 7th birthday! I thought this would be simple enough but still fun! I am really limiting the bells and whistles, I can tell you. Not enough time, or money for all that this year.
Then Saturday I am helping at our school gala event to set up our class basket. I don't attend the gala's, again, a money thing. Yeah, money is for the school but yeesh! Too much!

Ok let's move along to something crafty...

Stuck on U Sketches! This time we are up for another Die Cut Challenge and we have for you...

I used this cute one from the Silhouette store! Along with more die cuts!

Documented ~Artful Delight Guest Designer~

Documented

If you are looking for my Stuck on U Sketches card...keep scrolling down! It's there! =)

Woot Woot! I'm sharing my second post as Guest Designer for Artful Delight and again I've used their March scrapbook kit, as I will for all the pages of course!

I love this page! And guess what....that's not me, for those that thought so! My younger sister Amy with my daughter and then a small picture of her and my little guy. I don't think we look anything alike but I guess I can kinda see it in photos sometimes (though she looks like another sis way more then me!)

I loved using the stamp set in the kit to create my own printed paper and accents!

I added a bit of twine and just a few white and blue buttons but that's all I needed! I LOVE the look of the Distress Ink stamping with the large floral from the stamp set included. It has this cool blotchy look. Stamped in Pumice Stone and all the paper edges inked with that as well.

Ok folks! 2 posts...bet you are done reading...off to see my card next, right? =)

Birthday ~SOUS March 20 Card Sketch~

Sending Birthday Wishes

I am not sure if you all noticed but I do a ton of birthday cards! I find it's the one card that I always want to have to give out. I don't always have the need for the other cards...like I know if a baby is coming and usually that gives you 9 months to get the card ready! LOL!

So with that said, I've made another birthday card. Actually 4 of these to have on hand, but with different birthday stamped sentiments in the center.

This is the newest card sketch challenge at Stuck on U Sketches

Happy Easter ~SOUS Layout Sketch March 15~

2012 Happy Easter

Wow! Another weekend upon us! And this one is really going to be great for me! Today I'll be doing a little shopping at the Scrapbook Expo at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds and then after that heading out of town for a Woman's Retreat at Mount Hermon camp in the Santa Cruz mountains! I've never done anything like that in my adult life so I am really looking forward to it and to getting to know some of my church friends a bit better! Don't feel too sorry for me leaving my hubby with the 3 kids because his parents will be in town for the weekend. I wonder what trouble they are all going to get in...LOL! It's almost my little girls birthday so I think some shopping will for sure happen!

I have a simple but cutie pie layout to share with you all for our new sketch challenge at SOUS.

Papers~
Sandylion Butterflies, Garden Party and Little Friends
Die Cuts~
Silhouette Cameo, flowers and bunny (eggs from set)

Together Always ~Artful Delight Guest Designer~

Together Always

Oh gosh, I am so tickled to share with you guys today that I'm a lucky enough to be a Guest Designer for the fabulous shop and kit club, Artful Delight for the month of March! How great is that, right?
I've had my eye of their kits for some time and finally got into gear and joined their sketch challenges and was lucky enough to win a kit and get that awesome Guest Designer spot.
You can find that kit here. You'll love it like I do! Super full of printed papers and some nice and thick solid cardstock, not to mention the washi tape and versatile stamp set!
Here is my first page I've created with their sketch for the month, you'll find that at their blog here

My youngest two, they are such a duo! I can see them almost looking like twins in this photo..even with the 3 years age difference (and only 3 lbs weight different too! LOL)

I used the great Doodlebug washi tape to actually cover a panel of pattern paper from the kit. It softened the color but also gave some texture to the page and some added interest. I really like how that turned out. Originally I was going to add the washi tape in the stripes down the page but then that great swiss dot didn't show up, so this was my second idea and I love how it turned out!

Well it was certainly a treat to share this with you guys! I'll have more to share this month and look forward to doing so! Here's a look at the kit...I told you you'd love it! =)

Thanks for visiting everyone! Can't wait to share more!

Lucky 4 U ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge Shamrock~

Lucky 4 U

Today at Stuck on U Sketches is another Die Cut Challenge. This challenge at first seemed hard, since  well how many of us actually celebrate St. Patricks Day (I say that even with some Irish blood pumping through me). But once I starting thinking outside the box, and past the color green...it was no problem! You will also see what the girls did as well...some green, some not! =)

Shamrock

Papers~
Crate Paper Story Teller and Farmhouse
My Minds Eye Bramble Rose
Die Cuts~
All Cricut Expression
Create a Critter
(heart rainbow, lucky, horseshoe)
A Childs Year (shamrocks)
Cindy Loo(4)
Sweethearts (hearts)
Embellies~
twine, Basic Grey chipboard
Ink~
Distress Vintage Photo, white acrylic paint for background
Shine~
green pearls, blue and yellow gems

I really ended up happy with this page. I think the huge mix of prints agains't the simple background allowed it to stay interesting but not overwhelm.
I am so totally in love with the white splatters on the dark that I have a space layout coming together in my mind...fun!

Well, I'm getting a new stand up freezer today! So you know I'll be doing some organizing this weekend! And hopefully crafting as well! The kids have a 4 day weekend! Hurray!

HB 2 U ~SOUS Card Sketch March 6~

HB 2 U

Oh you guys, I am SO cracking up! I have made the funniest crafty mistake yet...and no, it's not photographed! But apparently my inside sentiment was Happy HOLIDAY Wishes (not birthday!) Oops!
Maybe I'll still send it that way and look like a big dork! =)

Well this little creation is for our current Card Sketch at Stuck on U Sketches.  Which you'll see at the end of my post...I did a little flipping for my card.

Papers~
Basic Grey Wander 6x6 pack
Stamps and Dies~
Imaginisce Snag Em'
Papertrey Ink Heart to Heart Die #6 (clouds)
Embellies~
buttons, black twine and white yarn
Webster Pages letter stickers
Inks~
Distress Vintage Photo

Here is the flipped sketch. The idea for the airplane and hand cut banner came to me when looking at the sketch from this way. The next idea was the clouds for the squares since I knew I wanted my sentiment in the banner behind the airplane. I think it came together well...since ideas don't always turn out like we first think!

Well that's it for me today!
Thanks for visiting! I have some more recipes to share and a great layout coming up for Friday! See you then friends!
