Cupcake ~SOUS July 25 Die Cut Challenge Food and Beverage

Celebrate Today

Oh my goodness I am so happy with this card! Sometimes stamping can be tough because there isn't always a plan. But luckily a little playing with the amazing Papertrey Ink dies and I was rolling! This card is for a new Die Cut Challenge at Stuck on U Sketches. Which is…Food and Beverage. Isn't that super fun! Oh my gosh! Easy as cake! LOL!

I used a mix of die cuts and also fussy cut a couple layers by hand. For example the floral Half and Half die in black, I traced the first die and then hand cut.

Guest Designer for Sisterhood of Crafters- Diecut and/or Punches

With Deepest Sympathy

Today is my last day Guest Designing for the month of July for the Sisterhood of Crafters. Lucky me gets to be a Step Sister~ yay!
As much as I adore this lovely card, it's a sad thing to have had to design it. My dear friend Tracy lost both her father and about a week or so later, her mother in law. Super tough. So I wanted to make something to let her know that I was thinking about her and the family.

I started with a kraft card base clear embossed using a Hero Arts woodgrain stamp. I cut 3 layers using a Papertrey Ink wreathe die. All embossed with white powder. 2 layers cut in vellum and one in green paper.

The banner is hand cut. It's tough to see in this photo but I added an embossed line above and below the sentiment (using my score board) and then again, white embossed the sentiment. For the last details I added wood veneer hearts and pearls.

One more huge thank you to all the sisters at Sisterhood of Crafters and thank you for asking me to join you this month! Certainly a treat to share with you all!
 Happy Summer!

Stuck on U Sketches July 18 Sketch

Stopping in quickly today to share another layout today. Shockingly I barely even used my die cut machine (other then that large circle). Now, don't get too shocked because I did use precut die cuts! Can't get away from them entirely! LOL!
This page is for the current sketch at Stuck on U Sketches. You'll see my sketch and how I rotated it below. I was so happy to scrap these photos. My two best friends from childhood. This was the first time we were meeting Lindsey and her (then) new baby (and first child!) Such a precious memory!

I ended up rotating the sketch =)

We also have a themed challenge you can join and have another chance to win something! Yay! You can find that info here and find even more info posted below. One random participant will win $20 to PPPR.

Ok so I am excited to share this project with you and will try to keep my post as short as possible so you can get through the hop =)

I created yet another shaped card for all the Summer boy's birthday's coming up. Normally I make something special for each person but I'm short on time and I know all the guys will love it (hopefully).

The surprise part is that the grill opens to reveal some yummy dinner! And the card also opens traditionally to show a sentiment and  a spot for writing in. It was easy to do, same concept as making a shaped card but just welded the top piece of the grill. Something fun and different!

Thanks for coming by!
Please head over to Melisa next…thanks again!

Don't Worry Summer's Almost Here

Don't Worry Summer's Almost Here

Hello folks! This was a set of cards I created for my kiddo's teachers for the end of the school year. To be honest, I had this designed literally months and months ago. And of course, created a bit ago as school ended in June =)
The clouds and sentiments I designed and used the Print and Cut feature in Silhouette. The school bus is then die cut with regular pattern paper.
This is for today's new challenge at Stuck on U Sketches, the newest die cut challenge…

 going somewhere

So think anything that can go…air balloons, kites, vehicles, boats, trains, boats, bicycles, etc.

I outlined the clouds and wrote over the entire sentiment using a glitter pen. I felt like it still needed a small detail. You can also see the clear windows and stamping on the bus.

 Take care my darlings!

Guest DesignerFor Sisterhood of Crafters- Birthday

Birthday Fishes

Oh my goodness! Friends, I am so excited to share that I will be Guest Designing for Sisterhood of Crafters this month! Today's challenge is…B I R T H D A Y! And come on, do any of us ever have enough birthday cards to hand out? I know I never do! Then again, this card is extra special so I may have to keep it and give it to myself! LOL! At a basic card size, these small die cuts are about as precious as you can get! Die cuts are cute as the heck in the first place but cut extra small…oh my, the sweet factor! =)

And the glitter…thank you Stickles for creating easy to use shine for us! This is incredible in person! Not sure if you can catch it or not, but even the Silhouette Cameo print and cut sentiment is lined with a glitter pen!

Keep Dreaming Everyday ~Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon DT~

Keep Dreaming Everyday

 Hey all!
You all have an incredible weekend? I sincerely hope so!
Today I am sharing a more simple layout using some cuts from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon. Today I share my layout over at the blog. So you can see that there as well. I took a great cut files from the shop, Simple Banner Shapes. I started with opening the file in my design software (Silhouette). I wanted the banner to reach across the page and so then I welded the single banner line with the double. A little pulling and shaping and it was a great fit! The only time consuming part was adding the title to the banner line. You can use any font that you like, which is great! So very slowly I took letter by letter and slightly overlapped with the banner line. Once I liked how it looked, I selected all the elements and welded! You easily do this without welding it as one piece and just set you letters above the banner. The clouds are a layer of card stock with a layer of vellum cut in a shadow to the bottom cloud. Love that extra texture in person! I added a few grey hearts and some gems to finish off the design!

A Fair Amount of Fun ~SOUS July 4 Sketch~

A Fair Amount of Fun to Have!

 Happy 4th of July!
Hope everyone has a wonderful day and night…and mostly, you are safe whatever you are doing! My in-laws are in town today and then Sunday we leave for a family camp. So if you wonder where the heck I am…I'm in the mountains! =)
Today I've created a new sketch for Stuck on U Sketches and a layout using that sketch! This is certainly a Summer theme- the FAIR! We have a country fair local and really enjoy going each year! These photos were from last year's visit.

I thought I needed a little something for the blue circle and half circle and even though I often stamp backgrounds, I decided I would emboss these and I am so glad I did!

 My newest sketch...

3 Piggy Opera ~Southern Girls #93 Circles~

3 Piggy Opera

We have another challenge over at Southern Girls Challenge blog…challenge #93 Circles! Can't wait to see what you all create! Bet there will be lots of folks who play! And come on over and check out the sponsors as well! =)

Also want to share with you guys that Southern Girls are having a DT call and you can find that info HERE! My time is almost up with the wonderful ladies…gulp!

I played with creating a circle background and used a large circle to ground my design. I love that background! Too fun! Glad to share this simple but sweet little page of my daughter at a school performance last year. She was too cute! Love being able to see my kids and my friends kids enjoying themselves and putting on a show! They worked so hard on this! =)

Since the page was simple, I cut and off set each die cut with a coordinating color. Helps the cuts stand out a bit without adding a full shadow to each one.
