Hello, Oh Happy Day ~SOUS Die Cut Challenge Circles~

Hello, Oh Happy Day

Hey! Hey! I'd like to share with you a new card for our Die Cut Challenge today at Stuck on U Sketches. Our challenge is to use die cut circles and so I utilized my Nestabilities to create this window card.  So many times I sit and create my projects using the software for my Silhouette Cameo. So I often don't feel like I get to sit and play with stamps. I had this idea immediately using circles and honestly loved creating this (minus the fact that my scrappy room isn't insulated well being at the back of the garage and it was hot yesterday!) I could SO get into creating my own patterned paper, so to speak, using stamps!

These photos are much better and truer for the colors. I really like the colored stamping on the lighter shade kraft card stock.

I created a mask for stamping the circles on the inside of the card. I pencil marked the shape from the outside and then placed my mask. I am just itching to get back into my room and play more! I love the soft edges of these stamped circles!

Thank You So Much ~Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon~

Thank You So Much
I certainly hope that everyone has been enjoying their long Memorial Day weekend! Maybe for the first time my family actually did something over the weekend and went camping! This trip marks our first of many, many booked beach camping trips this Summer! So looking forward to monthly getaways! Just calling but this may be our BEST Summer yet! =)
Today I am sharing a card I've created for my Design Team day post for Lisa at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon blog. I was so inspired by my last project that I really wanted to do another a bit similar. I love how different this card is! Created for a business sized envelope it's long length and flat bottom allow it to be a card that can also decorate a table top! The prints and textured paper also lend to more detail to this other-wise simple card.

Because this card was so simple using Glossy Accents I outlined the clouds and dusted throughly with some chunky Martha Stuart glitter, quite stunning in real life! The last bit was some white gel pen doodling to the sentiment and some tone on tone gems.

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon and Tombow Blog Hop

Oh Honey, I Love You!

Today is an exciting day! Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon and TOMBOW are having a blog hop! How super cool is that! Personally, I am strictly a Tombow glue user so this is a treat for me! This hop is extra special since you'll be visiting the PPPR girls as well as ladies from the Towbow DT! You'll see a great mix of files from Lisa's shop and usage of Tombow adhesives!

If you are just starting this hop then you can head back over to PPPR, otherwise you should be visiting me from Debbie's blog!

Join us for a great opportunity to win a $20.00 Gift Card to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons or
Tombow Adhesives Bundle!
For a chance to win, you MUST be a follower of each blog and leave a comment on EACH blog. For extra chances, you can also "LIKE" Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons on Facebook and Tombow USA Facebook page.

Thanks for joining us...you are close to done now, LOL!

Right away I knew I wanted to use the Tombow removable adhesive to create my own background using Honeycomb Shapes File. Making your own stencil was so easy, just choosing a bit thicker paper to die cut and then adhering with the Tombow removable adhesive..so so easy! If you don't think you'll use removable, think again! You could even use it when you are layering die cuts. Use the removable adhesive to keep the back piece in place and then adding all the layers on top will be a breeze when the bottom is steady!

Bit of a bummer that my glitter pen detail didn't show up in photos =( but the background is super cool! =)

June Birthday Boy ~SOUS May 23 Sketch~

June Birthday Boy
Hi! Happy Memorial Day weekend! This is our first weekend that we are actually doing something! Camping south of Half Moon Bay. Get used to hearing this from me because we have monthly, if not twice a month, camping trips this Summer at the beach! Oh yeah! Just if the place was warm enough, I could use a tan! =)

Wow can I get off topic quickly...okay! How about a new sketch challenge at Stuck on U Sketches! I hope you really like this sketch! And I just made another copy and made it into a double! For sure not something I regularly do!
I'm not a fan of layouts without photos but my little guy's birthday is...yup, next month =) so I got to wait just a bit for photos. But I'm ready for them!

I used a mix of chocolate brown, black, blue and orange acrylic paint for the splattering as well and lots of Black Soot Distress Ink!

If you are ever curious what to do with all the background cuts available...it makes for something much more interesting then just solid paper! Love this! I mixed pretty much tone on tone papers but one smooth sheet and one with texture. It's a great combo!

Our May 23 Sketch!

Mom, I Love You Bunches ~Southern Girls Challenge Blog #91 Shimmer~

Mom, I Love You Bunches

Hi all! Today is new challenge day at Southern Girls Challenge Blog! We are up to challenge 91! Woohoo! And a lovely challenge at that....SHIMMER!
If only you could see this card in real life...the shimmer...it's almost too much! =) The lower photo is a great example of the shine! I stamped a woodgrain patterned stamp onto vellum and laid over a light grey heart patterned paper. I stamped in Versamark and dusted it with white Perfect Pearls. I used Distress Stickles which is more of a shine then the glitter effect of regular Stickles. Very pretty! I even outlined the larger heart flowers on the card with a glitter pen! Yup! Over the top! Particularly for my mom who is sooooo not the girly type! LOL!

3D Cupcake ~SOUS May 16 Die Cut Challenge 3D~

3D Cupcake

 Happy Friday!
Geez are these weeks flying by! I have a feeling the last day of school will be upon us in no time! Yikes! =)
But before that happens let me share our newest challenge at Stuck on U Sketches! We have a great 3D challenge today! Our team created such super cool projects, as I am sure you can imagine that huge assortment of projects from 3D elements on scrapbook pages to vases of paper flowers! It's just awesome, so head over if you've not already!
This 3D cupcake is surprisingly sturdy just using regular card stock. I outlined and glittered the top edges for some more detail. I had a bunch of other ideas for this but none of them really made it into the "I can actually DO that" faze. Do you ever dream up stuff that just doesn't make sense when it's time to actually make it? I do! I do!

Wow, a shockingly quick post for me! LOL!
Have a good weekend everyone! We'll be finishing up school projects this weekend! I am so not looking forward to the next school year. I find homework and even more, at home school projects the biggest waste EVER! =(

Brighter Skies... ~Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon Design Team~

Brighter Skies…

Does this sun shiny card make your day too? Oh, I hope so! Now normally I do not ever reproduce a card, but I may make this one again! It's too dang cute! I had an idea to add a hanger at the top with bakers twine, then hang threads of twine with hearts hanging below. When the card is being sent, you tuck the hearts into the card. So you get a card and a little home decor project…I am almost can't help myself but to run back and create that now!!!! =)

Well I am sharing this today for my Design Team post for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon. Lisa has daily posts on her blog so you can find so-so much inspiration there! You've got to check it out and follow if you've not done so already! =) OH…and her store newsletter. I just want to bring that up because it's so much fun to see what's going on, sneak peeks of things coming into the shop and projects…not to mention a Friday freebie! =)

Hope you like my double layout…as a general rule I never, ever create without photos but my dang printer wasn't working so I'll have to add some later. I created this layout inspired by my youngest sister. Long story short, her birth changed the course that my life would take. Because of her adoption, God planted a seed in my heart and when I grew up and got married, my husband and I adopted our first born. It would never had happened without my sister! I wish I had photos to show off how pretty she is (she's 24, I'm sure she'd just love me going on and on here…LOL!)

 Ok…onto the project!

Love This Boy ~SOUS May 9 Sketch~

Love This Boy

Anyone else want to kiss each and every one of those freckles? Ok, maybe it's a momma thing! LOL! I was so happy creating this layout because I got the chance to sit with this photo of my oldest child. He's just as precious to me as the day he was born (well, kinda! Ha!)

Today is a sketch day over at Stuck on U Sketches and as I'm hostess this month, then also creator of May's sketches. Hope you all will enjoy them!

While you are hopefully visiting I will be on my way to a house up in the California foothills. Gold country. Each November I attend this scrapbooking retreat. Our own house in a Christian camp where they bring in the most fabulous meals and then we create all day, all night! Well we had the chance to go again and I am so there! =) Many of you know how limited time away from the kids is!

I did a lot of inking, doodling, and painting on this layout. The title was pieced together. Adding the love this arrow and welding onto the word boy. I inked the blue background and then splattered water on it, so the texture is great. And used a white gel pen to add even more detail to the title. Love how that all turned out…and the fun, fun bike! Cause ya know, my boys a biker =)

Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge Tree

It's A Good Day To Have A Good Day

 Hey! Hey!
 Can't believe it's Friday! Whaaaaaat!
The past 6 months I've been doing childcare for a little baby boy and today is my last day watching him! I can't believe the time has flown like that! It's so sad! Though I guess one less kiddo will make Summer a bit easier (not to mention scrappy time). I am also starting to round a corner in how I am feeling as well. The end of February I was in a car accident and it royally messed up my hips. I've been in a considerable amount of pain but it is slowly getting better now. All my test results are back and there's a small tear in the hip and some SI joint swelling. So now waiting to physical therapy. Still a journey but at least I can deal with everything better now =) what a blessing!

How about a new challenge at Stuck on U Sketches! TREE!
 I think this project counts...LOL!

American Crafts card stock (all greens)

Have a great weekend everyone! I'll be enjoying a woman's only even at church tomorrow morning! Looking forward to hearing what the Lord has for me tomorrow! Have blessed day!
