Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon DT Day!

A Boot Full of Flowers

Hey all! I know, it's been a little bit quiet over here! Sorry!
But I'm back today with a DT day for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon! I created a card with a mix of regular card stock die cutting and then also utilizing the print and cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo. I adore that you can mix these concepts!

I started with designing my background. I layered a couple shades of green for the bushes/grass (Flower Assortment) and clouds. I then sized my boot and flowers. The layers on the boot are print and cut, as is one layer of the flower (top layer with yellow center) and the back was cut from regular paper.  I also cut a teeny tiny little tag!!!

Oh of my favorite thing is using the print and cut feature on textured paper. I use card stock from Walmart and trim to fit my printer. I think it looks a lot better this way =)

A nice thick coat of Glossy Accents on the "rubber" boot ends up an easy and striking detail!

Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge- Blow Out The Candles

 Challenge time! Who's ready to die….CUT! =)
Stuck on U Sketches has another die cutting challenge! Which means as much as we LOVE stamping, we want to see DIE CUTS….so

 Blow Out the Candles

Our new challenge! You can have stamping on the project but there needs to be a DIE CUT birthday image. Just a reminder =)

So I had a big surprise from my always thoughtful hubby back on last Mother's Day. He bought me the coveted Shakers + Sprinkles Make It Market Kit by Papertrey Ink. This kit was so hot that it crashed their website! Anyways, took a couple months for me to get it but once I did…look out! This is my first project with the kit! (everything but the balloon (diecut and paper) and the blue heart paper, and twine was in the kit).

I die cut the birthday balloon's from my Silhouette with tiny little scraps from my stash. The great cream and gold twine was from the dollar spot at Target.

This great and super fun confetti is also from the kit! The kit came with confetti dies! Cool, right? Including the awesome title word which was cut in an orange shadow and a few layers cut in glitter paper. After I ran the strings for the balloons I realized it covered the word up. No problem, just add another die cut! Think there's a total of 5 layers to this word! =)

Ok well! This is our LAST weekend before the START of school! My oldest just turned 10 and so this weekend is a big weekend away with just Daddy! They get to go see WWE live in Sacramento, spend the day in the city and a hotel night! They will have the best time! Way to wrap up Summer!

Yes! School is back! ~Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon~

Yes! School is back!

Hey guys! You ready for "back to school"? Well we go back a week from today! Whoa! To celebrate this (and yes, I say celebrate! LOL) I made a couple cards for the kids new teachers! I used files from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon as today is my DT day at the blog
At first I wasn't sure how I wanted to do this background, I knew that die cutting so many fish would be pretty time consuming so I decided to make my own background paper using the print and cut feature on my Silhouette Cameo. I chose my cut file, separated the layers and chose my colors for the fish and crab. Then printed. For some more interest I also printed a few extra fish and a few separate layers for the crab so that those could be popped. This would have been fun as a single layer card but the extra layers really help it pop!!!

 (inside of card on left)

This was an easy card to make. The time consuming part was just moving the school of fish around to be spaced as I liked, after that it went together quickly. The crab did take a little time because I cut multiple layers of the eyes and teeth and put it together with different thicknesses of foam tape. The only embellishing I did was to add some white gel pen detailing.

Thanks for coming by today! Have a great one!

Some Summer Fun...

Geez, I can't believe I am saying so but I am taking a bit of a break this month from sketches at Stuck on U Sketches. Wrapping up a very busy Summer and getting ready for school which is coming up in another week and a half. My sweet little boy is starting kindergarten which is simply crazy to me and as if that's not enough, my oldest just turned 10 yesterday! Yes! 10! Am I even old enough to have a 10 year old? LOL!
Well since I don't have a layout to share today I thought I would still stop in and share some of the stories and photos from all our family fun this Summer. Don't worry, surely some of these pictures will show up again in layouts! Even with the best intentions to blog a little bit more of my daily life, I can't seem to get myself to do it. I wish I could, turns out I am a super fan of Pinterest recipes and have learned a lot over the last couple years in the kitchen. I'd have a lot to share with you…
My sister is getting married in just 2 months and yep, I decide now that maybe I need to loose this pesky 10 pounds I've put on this year thanks to the after effects of a car accident earlier this year. Ugh. Not feeling hot people, not hot! =( but enough of that sadness…let's get to some photos!

Lots of days swimming with friends or at the Livermore Tennis Club, VSB at Cornerstone church, swimming at Cull Canyon in Castor Valley, climbing trees and searching for shells in Half Moon Bay. Family camp at Redwood Christian Park in Santa Cruz. Friends…naps when you need them =)

Was wonderful meeting new people...I mean, neighbors!

An incredible Summer…maybe the best Summer of my life. Just a great mix of activities and friends but plenty of time to relax as well. I read a ton of books as well…even picked up my first book I couldn't finish cause it started to get too demented and scary, LOL.
And a little shout out to one of the best friends I've ever had in my life…Brandi! She's moving this Summer out of the state and I am broken hearted (that's our group of kids all sitting together). My gosh I am going to miss her, scrapping with her, cooking meals and seeing her kids grow. God blessed me more then I can say having put her in my life and I am grateful everyday for her. I pray blessings and smooth sailing on this new adventure for her!
Thanks for letting me share! Hugs!

Scatter Happiness ~Southern Girls, Last DT Project~

You Scatter Happiness In My Life

Oh my goodness! My last project with the sweetest, most FUN ladies at Southern Girls! I had a blast getting to know the Design Team and Lou (in particular) and thank them all for having me join them! Hope I brought a wee bit of inspiration to the followers there!

Our last challenge is to focus on…texture! Which is great because that's where so much interest is added into crafting. Sounds silly, but think about how you'd want someone to reach out and want to touch the project. So I decided to create texture by using different papers, like glitter paper and embossing and inking the patterned background paper. All of which add great textural elements, like the lace and metallic blue pom pom fiber.

All items listed are part of Papertrey Ink
Make It Market Kit: Shakers + Sprinkles
heart dies
scatter word die
papers
stamped sentiment
sequins

fibers by The Girls Paperie
and Recollections flower
Martha Stuart leaf punches
Stickles Glitz gold glitter

One more big…Thank You to all the darling girls! BIG hugs!
