Stuck on U Sketches 3D Potion Bottles

3D Potion Bottles
Hey all! Hope you all have the BEST, spooky and safe Halloween tonight! Anyone with school          children will know it's a busy day! It's also my first day having all 3 kids in school and having 3 school parties to get myself too! It will be a wild day, but a wonderful one, I am sure!

Today is a favorite day of mine as well because it's my posting day for Stuck on U Sketches and we've got a great holiday Die Cut Challenge…Trick or Treat! There are an uncountable number of die's out there to celebrate this spooky holiday so we want to see them all! Now you don't have to do exactly a Halloween project but some icon related…pumpkins count too! Can't wait to see what you create!

I've had this project designed for some time and finally was able to create these this past weekend! Can't wait to have them out each year! I used the wonderful Lori Whitlock files to cut these from my Silhouette Cameo.

I used some distressed paper from Basic Grey for most of my cuts. A dark brown for the bottles inked heavily with Black Soot Distress Ink. I used a few of the left over cuts to embellish a little more on the bottles (like the bones on the bottle lip below).

I also embellished my bottles with a mix of black tulle, cream  cloth (nooo idea what on earth you call this stuff but I'm pretty sure it's zombie material! hehe) and some eerie black "webbing" I picked up at the Scrapbook Expo .

Hope you've enjoyed this share today and again…a HAPPY HALLOWEEN to ALL my favorite Crafty Witches! xoxo!

Grave Stone Card ~Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon~

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon

Hi all! Another Happy Monday is upon us! Did you celebrate this past weekend with any Halloween parties or school festivities? We did both and had so much fun! Mix that with a rainy day and some crafting and it was pretty much a perfect weekend!
Now today is my design team posting day for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon so I've created something for the holiday for you today! I created a relatively simple shaped card but really…you cover the heck out of anything with glitter and it takes it to the next level, don't you think? LOL!

Lisa is pretty brilliant so I am sure she meant to do this…but I love how some of the graves in the cutting files have an opening in the top, like this one. Just calls for adding a detail there! I think adding a date in there would be cool too. Anyways, I added a small bat from the Potion Bottles Cutting File there and added a large black pearl.

You can also get a peak here at the pattern paper, I admit, I had to rub off a lot of the chunky glitter to get enough of my pattern to show through but I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Here are the files I cut from today…

Well I hope that you guys liked this and I'm glad to get to share with you! Have a great week and make sure you have your costumes and candy ready for Friday night! BOO!

October 24 Stuck on U Sketches

Keep Out

Normally I have much more for you then just a single photo but I think the page was pretty straight forward today.
I created this for our newest sketch challenge, sketch by my girl, Nanne for Stuck on U Sketches

I had a good time layering together some printed papers. Some were already in a striped design so I just had to cut those out…some taken from other scraps. I mixed from my very, very sad mix of Halloween papers. I've been using the same 3 sets or so for years! Trimmed out a few journaling cards from my DCWV stack and other page elements. The flourish and pumpkins were die cut, otherwise the page is shockingly die cut free.

Papers~
DCWV Ghosts and Goblins
BoBunny Hooligans
Die Cuts~
Silhouette pumpkin and flourishes
Misc~
ink and embroidery floss

Geez! I can't believe I got out of here with so little words…how very unlike me! =)

Craftin' Desert Diva's Sneak Peak

Craftin' Desert Diva's
Merry Christmas

Hiya! Today is a sneak peak day for the upcoming October Stamp Release at Craftin Desert Diva's. I have this shaped card and my paper pieced snowman to share with you today! I hope you all have been enjoying the projects but just wait until you see ALL the sets this month! The sets are unique and there's a great variety to choose from…but for now, just take my word for it! Look out for the set I used…Sweet Treats!

I started with a die cut snow globe that I turned into a shaped card. Did some inking with Broken China and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and a good splattering of white acrylic paint for my falling snow. I layered many different sized circles for snowballs along the base and added some punched snowflakes. Anyone else in LOVE with all the crafty snowflakes out there? Can't get enough!

I had started the card with the paper pieced snowman and snowballs at the bottom of the card and the falling snow but no sentiment or snowflakes or ribbon…I knew I needed something else so added those details and a quick little ancient sentiment sticker.

Okay, enough for me…I'll be back this weekend, we all will with hops and the full release to share with you guys!!!! Can't wait to share!!!!

Happy Owl-Oween ~Craftin' Desert Diva's Linky Party~

Happy Owl-Oween

Hey folks! Today is a share day for the current Linky Party at Craftin' Desert Diva's! We want to see ALL your fabulous crafty Halloween projects! Come visit here to share! We can't wait to see what you all create…so far, oh my! Such fun! I'm sure there will be lots more to see! Speaking of…let me share my project with you all today!

All pieces (except my stamping owl) were all cut on white card stock and inked with Distress Inks. This is certainly not a new technique nor is using Distress Ink new to me but actually coloring my paper totally with ink- that's new to me! I love the depth and richness this lends! I have to say that this background, not as much here as in real life, almost seems to glow within! Perfect for this full moon Halloween night =)

Because I had the white border on my stamped owl, I decided the page needed white somewhere else. I cut the background twice and left it on my cutting mat while I inked my background, I then cut again and used the white thin piece only and inlayed this into the background so it's a totally smooth surface.

The background was also sprayed lightly with a shimmer spritz to give that magical feel to this foggy, spooky night sky. My owl was watercolored with Distress Ink and a water pen, the eyes were colored black with a glaze pen and I added white Enamel Accents dots to the eyes.

So glad to get to share this today! Hope you enjoyed!

Critters Trick or Treat

Did I mention that last weekend was my little sister's wedding? Well we had a wonderful time and of course…a bit of drama! My mom broke her leg the first morning they were at the house they rented for the week. Yup! Poor momma! So she and my daddy were visiting tonight and we're watching the Giants try to work on getting to the World Series! Bay Area Pride! What! What!

Okay…gosh, can't I even get to the point of this post? LOL! How about a NEW Die Cut Challenge for Stuck on U Sketches! Anything Autum! Pretty easy, we can't wait to see what you all share with us! Here is my almost all Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon cutting files card.

I did a mix of print and cut on my Silhouette Cameo and some card stock (leaves). I did lots of layering, this card is so so cute in real life! And a bit of a misted sparkly background on the dark card stock for sure gives this an evening trick or treat vibe!

Trick or Treat ~Craftin' Desert Diva's DT~

Trick or Treat

Hi all! Today is my very first post on the Craftin' Desert Diva's blog! Too excited! I have a warm and happy Autumn card to share with you all today using the super darling Beary Thankful stamp set for the September release!

I layered some decorative leaves that you are able to find around many stores during the fall season, my favorite is using them in craft projects! I love the texture and ease of adding these to any project though it's always something paper and not really home decor. I warmed up some plaid paper by inking the edges and to bring in the black from my stamping and faux stitched lines I matted the plaid with a small mat on black paper. The warm browns and bit of black are a nice combo.

The wonderful thing about richly pigmented colored pencils is that you don't need to do anything but layer on the color. Though I do like to blend with mineral spirits (gamsol) I love the dense shiny color from straight colored pencils. Look how bold and intense the color is on this kraft card stock! Love!

Thank you so much for stopping in today! See you soon!

Having Brains Is Over Rated! Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon

Having Brains Is Over Rated
Ok! It's finally my day to share this! Easily one of my favorite EVER pages! This page was created for my Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon Design Team day…what a way to start the week! Yay!
I spoke on my last post day for PPPR about using really big elements on your scrapbook page and I think this certainly shows the impact that can have! The photo is a standard 4x6 so you know these zombie kids are cut really big! Did you notice…they look almost exactly like my kids? LOL!
I started with a subtle grey and white striped background and then inked the edges. What normally would look like a bad inking job has a smoky, foggy look that lends well to the eerie feeling I was going for. You'll see that better in some of the photos coming up.
There is a lot of detail so please feel free to click on the photo's to enlarge them! If you do so then you'll make me feel better about the time it took to ink everything!!! LOL!!!

I added my sentiment using free fonts downloaded from Dafont.com and added some Girls Paperie stickers affixed with my mini stapler. I'll also take this moment to tell you how hard it was to find scraps that I wanted for these darn outfits…I swear I never take that long to get dressed myself! Ha!

And these are the files I used, you can click on the title below the photos to go directly to the shop for each cutting file.
