Craftin Desert Divas August Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the CDD Stamp & Die Release Blog Hop.  All stamps &  Dies are in the CDD Shop and now available for purchase!!!

   Here they are...

(I have almost unlimited ideas for this set! Love!)

(Am I the only person on earth that has never had a cup of coffee?)

(I promise, with the addition of the little faces, these veggies are the cutest ever!)

(What do I even say about this crazy silliness! LOL!)

The Autumn Wishes Bundle is available for this weekend only thru Sunday.
This special price is for what is in stock only and ends 8/30 10pm MST.

We also have 3 new sequins: Limited Addition: Corn Maze, Candy Corn and Autumn Wishes

This project was a joy (and a lil' bit pain) to create! Shakers are always tricky. I used Fancy Frames (die set) to create this and cut 2 layers with fun foam and added some of our new and LIMITED sequins in Corn Maze.

I started by stamping this scene in a light ink and then coloring. After everything was colored I went over the outlines again but with a darker brown pencil. After some highlighting and shadowing I was tickled with it. I'm not sure where I got the ideas for the sun rays but think that really made it pop!

I even stamped my own tone on tone background with the pumpkin and leaves from Autumn Wishes (squirrel and sentiment are from that set as well). The basket and pumpkin are from Farmers Market. I love the option to combine sets and these do go together perfectly!

The last detail was the coat the entire frame in loose glitter...its gorgeous but darn, didn't get a good photograph to show that off! Ugh!

Here is the release special for you:
There is FREE SHIPPING on all orders placed 8/28-8/30 no code necessary!!
Ends 8/30 10pm MST

Here is today's SVG freebie. All you have to do is comment and follow each blog. Each stop along the way will give you a letter. Collect all the letters, then go to the CDD shop and use the code to get your freebie. This freebie is only available today.

***My letter to collect is....C***

Stamps and dies are made in the USA.

Craftin Desert Divas Linky Party

So my lovelies, it is Linky Party time at CDD and you can find all the deets here. Check out that link and also our NEW blog look as well as a new CDD store looks simply amazing and you'll all just love it! Seriously! We look forward to hear your feedback but I know you will be as excited as we are!

My project features a stamp set that was a freebie from earlier in the year and our Fancy Frames die set which features small scallop and stitched rectangles.

   Our tasty photo inspiration...

To create the inlaid die cut background, I used washi tape to keep all the Fancy Frame pieces together while I cut all the different pattern papers. To help some of those layers stand out, I outlined them with Stickles. Before I did that I took all the layers and ran them together to add the embossing.
Lastly, a few little hearts with Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.

Okay, can you deal with the sweetness? LOL! This little card is going into my little girls backpack for her first day of school tomorrow...what? Tomorrow? Yes, I can't believe the time has come!

Embossing and Watercolor Pencils

Embossing and Watercolor Pencils

Hiya! Can you believe I got to play and create something just for fun...I mean, come on, it's all fun...but normally I am making something for a particular reason, design team, etc. This time I really did just get to create and sometimes that's simply the best. Of course, I had to use my wonderful collection of Craftin Desert Divas stamps!

I think I'll be in the market for some new watercolors. I would really like something more vibrant and better color choices then what I currently have (which is primarily watercoloring with distress inks). So my choice in watercoloring now is using watercolor pencils. I love it and that's what I've used today. I started with stamping and white embossing all the images into this scene.

The other thing that I think is really neat about creating something where the coloring is the highlight is that it requires very little else on the card. I love how simple this is and how it still really has interest and impact! Yay for coloring!

Here are the darling sets I've used today...

Sunset School ~Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon~

Hi all I'm sharing a fun school themed layout for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon. School themed anything is such a favorite of mine and some of the new PPPR files are just too perfect! Darling on their own or just perfect to mix with some of the older sets (like the addition of the pencil on the page today). And speaking of the pencil, when you use any design software to help you design and cut your images, remember to play around with not only the sizing but with altering the shape in general. For example, I wanted a thicker pencil to ground my bookworms so I simply pulled the thin pencil into a chubby one. Easy!
These wormies are the best, ever! And the addition of the glasses makes them just that much better (plus, how cute to have the "cheeks" within the glasses!) Both worms were cut on printed paper and to add a little dimension to the bows, the back layer was cut twice. Then to adhere, I added a strong liquid adhesive to the center of the bow and then trimmed super small pieces of foam tape next to the center. That allows the center to hold down but the ends to pop!

With so much fun detail (like the ruler background) I didn't need much else for details. So after adding some enamel dots and letter stickers for the title, I was pretty much done! Well, got to add photos but I really wanted to use current ones so we've got another week before school starts. Luckily.

   And the always amazing files...

(pencil and ruler)

Thank you so much for visiting and can't wait to hear what you think of this creation! Have a wonderful week everyone!

Craftin Desert Divas Two for Tuesday

You Are My Sunshine

I am so very excited about this fun challenge we are sharing today at Craftin Desert Divas. This challenge is called Two for Tuesday and will pair 2 CDD Design Team members together. One stamp, two designs! This will really give you a great example of how very, very different a single stamp can look! Saundra and I were teamed up together today, you can find her card on CDD but head to her blog where you'll see it in much more detail. If you've not spent any time over at her blog, you will want to! Sign up to follow her...her projects are just awesome!

This little girl stamp is the focus of our challenge today. So sweet!

So this card, thank goodness, turned out great because it was a serious challenge to put together. The window portion of this card had to be very thick to accommodate my shaker goodies. Glass glitter, real shells and of course some CDD sequins! Regular shakers are still on the card front only. This one was cut through the front panel so that the stamping is on the inside of the card. Which means both sides of the front panel needed to have acetate. Tricky I'm telling you, but worth it!

I colored my stamping using Prisma watercolor pencils. I really do love using them and think they are one of my favorite coloring mediums. I added some glossy accents to the sunglasses and drink on the front of the card, as well as a few teeny tiny gems on this cute little girl.

Thank you SO much for visiting! I think this last stretch is the most I've posted in a row before. Now there's a little break, which we both need at this point. LOL! Thanks again for sticking with me! Hugs to all!

You Color Me Happy ~Craftin Desert Divas Linky Party~

You Color Me Happy

Happy Monday! Today is our second part of our Linky Party, Keeping Cool for Craftin Desert Divas. You can find our linky party here. The ladies have created the cutest projects for this! Lots of summer inspiration. As usual we've got great party giveaways, a stamp set of choice from CDD or $25 for Too Cute by Jessica. Yay!

I was dying to use this sentiment stamp and it really did inspire this project in terms of deciding to use a rainbow palette. Using ice cream die cuts came along easily for our "keeping cool" challenge!

I cut 2 layers of black for the ice creams. Then released compound path so that I have pieces to fill in the open sections with. I cut those in white and colored them with my Spectrum Noir markers and gave them some nice shine with Wink of Stella.

This stamp set is from our August mini release that went on sale this past Friday! You can find that whole mini release here

I have posted just a ton these last days and lots of CDD but don't get sick of me yet! I have something extra special to share tomorrow along with a neat post at CDD...something a little different, I think you'll all really like! So make sure to stop by here tomorrow!

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon August Blog Hop

School Days

Welcome to the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon August Blog Hop! We are creating Smarty Pants themed projects (nerds, school, etc.) using Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons files. If you came from my darling friend, Katy's blog, then you are on the right track.

The blog candy for this hop is a $15 GC to the PPPR store. For a chance to win, you must be a follower of each blog and leave a comment on each blog. For extra chances, you can also "LIKE" Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons on Facebook  and/or sign up for the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Newsletter. A random winner will be chosen for the prize on Tuesday, August, 2015.

I would totally sign up for the newsletter if you've not done so yet, there's a free file each Friday! Super worth it!

You can pick up the Blog Hop freebie on Saturday and Sunday of the hop, only...then it will be available for sale in the store.

Okay folks...are you ready? Cause I was almost giddy all week waiting to share this layout! School themed projects are a serious favorite of mine and Lisa's incredible files make every project something extra special! My kids wanted to play with the cuts that I have put together. The large notebook, blackboard and clipboard are so cool!

To make some of these pop, I did cut multiples layers on some of the cuts. For example the glasses and red of the apple. Both of which got a layer of glossy accents as well. The only thing I used foam tape (or craft foam) on was under the clipboard and the kids photo since I wanted to make sure that was a focus on the page.

Before I head off we also have our PPPR Smarty Pants Challenge. The projects can be anything that are school or nerdy themed and feature Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons files. You can more find on those challenges here.  One random participant will win $20 to PPPR! We can't wait to see what you share with us!

Next stop is to Melissa! Thanks for visiting!

Here is our line-up

Hope you all have a great weekend! We are currently at the beach for a long weekend camping!
