Happy Belated Birthday Animals ~Craftin Desert Divas~

   Happy Belated Birthday Animals

Hi Craftin Desert Diva fans! Today I have some jungle friends here to help me wish someone a happy belated birthday...huge foul on our part, this may (or may not, LOL) be for my mother-in-law. I know, I stink (but I blame her son!) Lots of CDD stamp sets were used and you can find that list below. I started with choosing my size and cutting these squares and the thin frames. The first set of leaves were layered under the thin frame, with a few tucked on the outsides.

These cuties were colored with Spectrum Noir markers. A few paper flowers and these darling Doodlebug Sprinklers which can be easily purchased here with your stamps in the CDD shop.

Ready for the list of sets? Here we go...
Hippo Birdie
It's All About Zoo
So Long
Simply Said

Thank you SO much for stopping in...with August coming up that means we may want to start thinking of school...but not yet, there's a lot of summer to still be had! LOL!

Beach Santa ~Craftin Desert Divas Linky Party~

Beach Santa

Hey all! It's time for....Christmas in July! Yay! So this Santa is headed to the beach! If you'd like to get a bit well, off season, you should really join us! You can find our Craftin Desert Divas Linky Party here

So the fun part about our parties are the prizes you could win...a stamp set of your choice from CDD or $25 from Too Cute by Jessica! Great, right?

Oh my gosh, can I tell you a bit about how dang long and difficult this card was? I had to practice to make sure the sun cap fit on Santa, then trying the sentiment out. The stamping, coloring and fussy cutting. Thank goodness it turned out okay! LOL!

And here is the fun, mixed sentiment created from 3 different sentiment stamps!

(beach sign, shells, sentiments and sun cap off of the boy)

Craftin Desert Divas FB Sneak Peeks

July Sneak Peeks
Well to the Craftin Desert Divas Sneak Peeks! You've made it to our last day which means tomorrow you get to see the sets in full and purchase these cuties! Hurray! Our sneak peeks, similar to last month's release have been on Facebook on the DT fan pages. Friday and Saturday we'll have blog hops for our full release!
You can find my fan page here to join our hop! You'll find a couple extra photos of my projects and also some specials and where you can get free cut files!
Today I am sharing cards created using So Long and Hippo Birdie!

This was the first time that I did this exact combo together. Meaning, watercolor paper, pencils and mineral spirits with no line stamping. I love how it turned out and that the textured paper gave the card a little bit more interest with the otherwise simple cards.

   And for the sentiments...

(a sunny hello with hello masked off)

(thanks and congrats)

Hope you enjoy the hop today and come back tomorrow for our BLOG hop!

Watercolor Floral Arrangement ~Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon~

Hey all!  I have something with an artsy feel to share with you today for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon. I really was in the mood to do something totally different from my usual layout. I also wanted to play with watercolor. Luckily the watercolor paper cut beautifully with my Silhouette Cameo. I started with laying this out and sizing everything using my design software. This ensured that I had room for the flowers and that I had a general idea on the flower placement.

I used Distress Inks as my watercolor. I squashed the ink directly to a non stick mat and added Perfect Pearls spray and water and painted away! The gold really makes this card classy as well and helped direct me to adding gold pearls into the flower centers.

I just used pieces and parts of the file below, kinda a mix and match thing.

Hope you are enjoying your summer and getting plenty of crafty time in! My family and I are enjoying ourselves with lots of day trips and a family summer camp in the Santa Cruz mountains. Lots of memories are being made!

Craftin Desert Divas Linky Party

Swim For Some Birthday Fun

Hey folks! Today is another team share day for Craftin Desert Divas Linky Party...celebrating birthdays! I decided to mix a couple sets and create this fun under water scene. This card was a bit of a labor of love but a total joy to create!

On these photos the effect is super subtle but I inked over a striped stencil on the back blue mat. Then used a confetti like stencil with texture paste. Sadly most of it is covered up with my stamping panel but still love the effect! I did also add some Stickle glitter dots to the white portion.

We always have great Linky Party goodies to give out for those that join us...stamps from CDD and a credit at Too Cute By Jessica!!!!!!

And the sets I've used today are...

Thanks for visiting! We have been super busy with lots of fun summer activities! Best summer ever (so far!) Yesterday we visited the SF Zoo and today we are going mini golfing and to the movies with the kids! It's so fun when daddy has some time off! Hope you all are enjoying your summer as well! Hope you'll have time to share your crafty creations with us!

Sea Ship Porthole Tags ~Craftin Desert Divas~

 Sea Ship Porthole Tags
Oh my goodness! I have to admit that this project really got my creative juices flowing! LOL! Not only was I a mess of anticipation to get this started once I had the initial idea. But then I had to create it in steps and days. Luckily this turned out because it would have been a heck of a let down if it hadn't! ;) These cuties were created using the stamps from the newest Craftin Desert Divas release. If you haven't had the chance to stop by CDD...or to check out last week's sneak peeks or blog hop. I highly suggest that you do. The projects were beyond incredible! You can also visit us on Facebook, here. And scroll around to check out projects there as well.

The die cut tags are from Silhouette, I made my own solid background to show color in the cutout. I also created a layer to enforce the hole, which also added color. The porthole I made using design software, easy enough. The "ship" pattern on the tag was created using a ruler and markers. Note, the tone on tone shell I stamped in the bottom left corner?

The "it" part of the project was covering the entire colored stamped portion with Glossy Accents. Also the part that took a bit of extra time, both to cover the area and to allow it to dry. I cut multiple layers of the porthole to have it stacked and raised. My error was cutting the stamped circle a bit smaller. If you wanted to do this same thing, make sure that the stamped piece is the same dimensions as the entire porthole. There was a bit of a gap between the 2 pieces (stamped/glossy accents and porthole frame). I used a strong adhesive to glue these together and sat something heavy on top to ensure these stuck together well. Not a big deal but something to think about if I were to do something like this again.

I was able to use parts of each of our new mini sets! Yay!

(tone on tone shell on tag)

You can find all these sets, plus our entire new release

Thank you...as always, for stopping by today! I know our time is valuable. Even if you are unable to comment or just come by for photos and don't read a thing (Guess what? I do the same thing at other blogs. I just wanna see the pictures! It's about the projects people!) If you do happen to catch this...seriously. Thanks.
