We Just Click ~Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons~

We Just Click

Hiya! I'm posting today for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. It seems as of lately all I am doing is creating cards so I really wanted to create a layout. I seem to be a fan of using as many of the cutting files in one project as I can. Though all of the camera's aren't featured here, I sure got many of them in here! This was the perfect theme to highlight this photo of myself and my 3 sisters when we got to take a sister trip to Disneyland! A lot of photos were taken those 2 days! LOL!
I was also inspired by the color choices in the actual cutting file photo so I went ahead and chose scraps to get as close to the file colors as I could. And because those were all solid colors, I went for some texture by choosing pattern paper for the background.
I also wanted to share a bit about how I go about cutting when I have so many images. In the photo below (you can click on the photo to enlarge it) you can see on the right side that I have the whole layout design. I then group all of the images together and keep it as reference as I am working on the rest of the layout. On the left you'll see some of the individual cameras. I found it easier once putting these all back together if I had each camera alone to see what color went where. I also took each camera, ungrouped, and then pulled each piece apart and grouped by color. As you'll see on the center virtual cutting mat.
I hope that gives you some ideas and helps you some to see a visual on the creating process.
And here are the files I've used today.

Freehand Watercolor Roses ~Craftin Desert Divas~

Hi stampers, I'm blogging today to share a card for Craftin Desert Divas. I wanted to show case this beautiful, bold sentiment from Wishful Thoughts. And then created free hand watercolor roses. I was pretty tickled with how this turned out. And yes, I did practice a ton before I did this. I'm so glad I did because I would have jacked it up the first dozen roses, LOL! The background behind the die cut panel was ink over stencil. It just needed a bit of color.

The off the edge flowers were showcased further by using the In Line dies to create this angular piece, creating more interest then a regular rectangular panel. Also happens to be my favorite die set!

And here are the direct links to the stamp set and dies.

Every other Monday will mark the beginning of a new semi-weekly Linky Party over
at the CDD blog. We hope you will share your projects with us! And don't forget
about  the prizes! Every Linky Party will have a winner and a Top 3!
The more times you link up...the more chances you have to win!!

Here's what you could win for this Linky Party are:

One 4"x 6" stamp set

I have to say that my crafty time has become shorter and shorter and there are times I feel rushed. "Having" to create in a certain amount of time, or something similar to that absolutely blocks my creativity. I want to craft when I want and create what I what, when I want. So with that being said, this card was a joy to make and reminded me why I love this hobby so much! My heart was so full that I just couldn't wait to make more and so the projects have been flowing...those, you'll have to wait and see!

I started with inking my background behind the mermaid. I flipped the Stitched Scallop die and used those as waves in vellum paper. Adding glitter to the edges. I was in love with watercoloring the little mermaid girl! I pulled out my junior high school bead collection and had the perfect colors to add to this! Score!

I thought this wreathe from Stitched in Circle was perfect to add some detail and had a seaweed vibe! I created this sea glass bottom to my shells using 4 colors of Liquid Pearls.

I used a ton of CDD goodies! Here's the list and direct links!

Ok, wow, kinda a long post! Thanks for sticking with me! Hope you enjoyed the visit!

Red Roses ~Craftin Desert Divas~

Hey all, I'm with you today here for CDD and I have a card to share using one of the new floral sets released last week. The Flowers In Bloom set is amazingly beautiful! Tons of different flowers and options, sizes and extra leaves. Love! And just look at this card...

Quite a bit of masking created this full and lovely floral scene. I also masked and combined parts of sentiments for a custom greeting. Masking is a must in stamping!!!

Simple white on white layering with a green pop of fun foam for dimension. Usually I like a lil' something in the background but really like the white layering using the Fancy Frames dies. The green fun foam does add some extra interest and lots of dimension, this is one thick card!

And here are the wonderful sets I used today.

(sentiment- paradise)
Hope you all have a wonderful relaxing and crafty weekend! Hugs!

Bible Verse Frame ~Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons~

I'm glad to be here and glad to be sharing a bit of a different project with you all for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon. I pretty much stick to card making and scrapbooking and though this could have easily been adding to a scrapbook page of scaled down to fit on a card, I did something different. After significant time reading these bible verses over and over, I knew I wanted to do something to high these. I decided to make this flat card to be able to keep in a book. Yes, much larger then a book mark! This could also be put up on the wall or sat up on a table top. I knew I may want to use it differently at different times so I went ahead and kept this a relatively flat project.
After computer generating these verses and choosing my fonts and printing, I put this into the Photo Frames 1 Cutting file. I thought the polaroid styled cutting files would be perfect to frame this. I love how simply this file can bring a bit of interest to something and frame it in a fun way! I did create the extra layer with the green inner frame in my design software. It's so easy and adds just a little bit extra to add more layers when and if you need them.
I used one of my favorite shapes in the PPPR shop and cut a few layers of the "land" and layer those for just a bit of dimension. I also used the basic heart shape for the other blue hearts around the card. I stapled a few stickers that coordinated and added some Wink of Stella for some shine of the small hearts and "land".
This was a very simple project but I'm tickled with how it turned out and can see myself trying some other fun ways of highlighting my favorite bible verses!
Here are the files and links to what I used in the shop...
