Sending Sunshine Sunflowers ~Craftin Desert Divas~

Sending Sunshine Sunflowers
Yep, our hashtag for our super awesome NEW Social Media Challenge over at Craftin Desert Divas. So you create using CDD products, share on social media with #CDDMONTHLY and be eligible to win monthly prizes! Yay!
Hope you like this vibrant Fall card as much as I do! This one may have to stay permanently in my stash at home- I don't think I can give this away!
Here is our wonderful challenge photo to use for inspiration for your project you will share with us!

And a close up to show off some of the dimension. I did multiple layers of foam tape to be able to achieve all the different layers. Of course, I created my own inked background. And all the images and dies are from an all time favorite CDD stamp set Autumn Wishes. Coloring with Prisma colored pencils.

Thanks friends for stopping in! Don't forget #CDDMONTHLY

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons and NEWS to share!

Hey all! I'm posting at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons today...keep reading the post and I'll share my SAD news with you all. I really wanted to play with making my own interesting background for a shaped card. Even if you keep a card a bit more simple, there are things you can do for serious impact. Like layering pattern papers using the Pocket Card 1 cutting file. I even designed the card base using this file so that the shapes matched perfectly.

I used a stamp from my stash and heat embossed the sentiment on the Sentiment Spots 3 banner shape. Some colored hemp and hearts also from my stash and I call this sweet little card done!

My NEWS...well I have been with Lisa Norris, of Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons for nearly 3 years! Lisa has become a very cherished friend of mine and I honestly love her dearly. Not to mention that I have repeatedly said that she is one of the very BEST in the entire business of designers for cutting files (and more!). I will continue to purchase her designs. I will continue to purchase EVERY file in the Silhouette online store to show my support. However this is my LAST post for PPPR! Believe me, this was one of the hardest decisions I have made in a long time. That's how much Lisa and this team means to me! Thank you Lisa for your creativity, leadership and friendship! And love to all the PPPR DT! Hugs!

Crafting Desert Divas September Release

Crafting Desert Divas
September Release Projects
Over on Facebook you will find our projects being posted for the September Release! So exciting! But I did also want to come here, of course, and share my projects! Both super different from each other. Let's start with Cupcake Cuties, these super mini images are simply the sweetest. The card sentiment is right on I guess! =)

I was out of town and this didn't post for yesterday! Ugh! Here we go...

(sentiment and 5cent)

Ok- how about the total switch up with this next card!

I created a couple different things for the background. First the clear embossed roses (same stamp as red roses) and then below you'll see the tone on tone stamping with the smaller skulls from the set. I did some masking to create these trio of roses (otherwise the actual stamp image is 2 roses). I also masked to put these 2 skulls together. The sentiment is white embossed.

That does it for this weekend! Hope you've been enjoying all the projects this week! We have one more day posting tomorrow at CDD so check it out! Thanks for coming by!

Close up of the shaker and stamping from Sweet Season. I added some glass like glitter to the stamped pieces.

Top panel is pattern paper but inside I tone on tone stamped with the coordinating images from inside the shaker portion!

Silhouette Curio Stippled Strawberry Basket

Hi everyone, I am here today posting for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons. I hope you folks were able to have joined us this past weekend over on Facebook for our monthly inspiration hop! If not, you can start the hop here. At least to pop through and check out the projects. Ok so I had shared during the hop my very first Silhouette Curio project. And today, I have something else created using the Silhouette Curio machine but it's a totally different project!
This is not the completed project but this would be the first step done with the machine. Stippling onto canvas!
As you can see in the next photo, I started with turning the Strawberry Basket cutting file into an image filling in only shades of grey and black. I did initially start using the colors that are using when you open your file, but the end result is better if you can play with the colors (and by colors, I mean like those below). The end result you can see once you've traced the image using the Stipple feature, is on the right! I used the adapted piece in the Curio that allows you to use any pen and I used a Paper Mate Flair pen in black on canvas (as seen above).
Now as cool is that is, I decided to add some color and used my alcohol markers and colored directly over the stippling and onto the canvas!
Then end result is so neat! Also watercolored looking, almost like its a printed/dyed piece from a shop! The stippling detail with it as well adds SO much extra interest.

I hope you enjoyed seeing this today! It was a lot of work but worth it!

   Thanks for stopping in!

Magic Carpet Ride ~Craftin Desert Divas~

Anything is Possible
Hey all! I am sharing this card today over at Craftin Desert Divas. Mastering Spectrum Noir markers is a little tricky and this card definitely gave me a coloring workout! But I am super tickled with how it turned out. The yellow backlit lightening is much more vibrant in real life but I think you can get a good idea on what it looks like. I love how a detail like that can really add so much to a stamped project. The stamp layering wasn't too bad, and mainly because the carpet stamp from the August release, Your Wish, was easy to cut! Then the design itself all takes place on a card panel cut from the largest die from Fancy Frames.
For dimension, because otherwise this would have been nearly a one layer card, I cut 2 carpets along the bottom and popped those. Then cut a lower panel with our Stitched Scallop die, perfect place to ground the card and add my sentiment.
Here are the CDD products used:
Your Wish
Stitched Scallop
Fancy Frames
Enjoy your weekend and thanks for letting me share! I'll be back tomorrow with a special project to sneak peak from a Facebook hop!
