Mushroom House ~Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon~

I'm posting today and hoping you all had the most blessed Easter weekend! We certainly did at our house. And speaking of houses, my little card features one of my very favorite single image files here at Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon. The darling mushroom house that is part of the Gnomies Cutting Files. I'll admit, I used this file very often. From a recent card using the sweet bird nest to using the lantern in Halloween projects! So fun!
In a simple design you can make more impact by paying attention to the details. For example, inking all the layers. That really helps each layer stand out more. The most attention was put into the mushroom house. In total there is well over 30 layers!

You can use foam tape for dimension, which I've done with the green hill and house. Or you can cut multiples of the same layer. For example the red on the roof was cut 3x and glued together. The doorstep and windowsill is 5 layers. It's just a different way to build dimension and layers, and interest! Adding an embossed sentiment just wraps up this super sweet card!
And the sweetest cut files ever...

You're Just Like Bacon ~Craftin Desert Divas~

You're Just Like Bacon...

Hi friends! Happy EASTER weekend! I'm popping in today to share a card for Craftin Desert Divas. Something fun and masculine for my fun and masculine husband. LOL! I adore this stamp set, Kitchen Cuties and had a lot of fun stamping out this background.

This was done is more earth tones but you could easily stamp something tone on tone like this and shade with a similar color. I think there are lots of ideas for something like this. I was also able to create my own envelope which was so fun! And to have them coordinate is just an extra fun step! The envelope of course doesn't require any extra color or sharing.

Over the bacon I added Crackle Accents so its pretty cool in person (wasn't able to get a good photograph). I also used one of my most favorite EVER die sets. In Line Dies! The BEST assortment or unique shaped dies...love them! I used the border stitching to add a double stitched line along the bottom of the card.

Hope you enjoyed this card today! Here is the set I used today...

Thanks for stopping in!

So obviously I went for as close of a match to the colors as I could get but from the other photos I was inspired by the stripes and created my own background. After those were put together I cut a panel out using the Fancy Frames dies. And then layered a few more colors and popped it all using fun foam.

I heat embossed the sweet sentiment and to go with that sentiment, I glittered a few stripes. I couldn't not add shine with a sentiment like that! =)

And here are products I used.

Sending Mousie Smiles ~Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon

Sending Mousie Smiles
Good day my fellow Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon fans! I'm here on this oh so happy Monday to share a cheery little card. Over this weekend's blog hop  (click to take a peek if you missed it) I shared another card using one of the PPPR card base files. Neither of which I had used before. Honestly, having a different card base really makes a card that much more unique. I look forward to using them more often!
Even though this is a simple design, the small details make it that much more interesting. Because of my base card color choices, I wanted a small hint of color to make the peach floral. I used the shadow feature on my design software to make a small mat for that shape (part of the card base cutting file). In addition I used a border punch to add the small scallop to the blue floral (part of the card base cutting file). Those 2 small things add more interest, as does adding embossing like to the sentiment and the stamped and embossed texture on the flower pot base.
The mouse and flowers were all cut on white paper and colored with markers. I was able to really choose my colors to match the floral paper well and it was easier then searching for small paper scraps to match. I also love the texture to the flower center (in addition to white and glitter gel pen on the centers).
This card was a lot of fun to put together!
Here are the files I used, starting with the card base on the right. I love Lisa created both landscape and portrait options!

And my project! This little sweetie will be going to my daughter soon since her 10th birthday is coming up! I enjoyed this card so much that this is one I can see myself repeating again! I die cut clouds in 3 different papers. Vellum, dot by Bazzill and a shimmer paper. After those were all glued I cut it out using our Fancy Frames die so all the edges would have our stitching detail.

And coloring this was SO much fun! I added lots of wink of stella and glossy accents to the wings and a fun sprinkling of colored gems. And of course, I layered the heck out of this using the rest of the Fancy Frames.
Here's the darling stamp set I used from this past weekends new release!!!

Craftin Desert Divas March Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the CDD March Stamp Release Blog Hop.
All stamps are in the CDD Shop and now available for purchase HERE.

I should be your first stop today and you should just be coming
by way of CDD? If not, head back here

I'm super excited to share my projects with you today! A couple cards featuring some of our cutest CDD critters, new and old!

I desperately tried to get a photograph showing the cow on an action wobbler! As soon as I saw this set, I knew I had to try that out with this cow! So much fun! I had fun die cutting some layers and a little scene for this guy and I love the chipboard frame and the soft vellum layer. Creating the background, cow and cherry print was so much fun!

Oh my goodness...was this fun to color! Anyone who's used color pencil will understand how long this took! A mix of no-line stamping and then some additional hand drawn scenery. All the color blending is done with pencil (no gamsol) I love the look with the creamy color but just enough pencil marks left that you know this is hand made! The last detail was cutting a frame, I think there's pushing 10 layers here but I really think it show cases the coloring well, adds a detail but doesn't draw much attention away. I love the fact that well colored cards need very little else for embellishing.

And the additional CDD goodies I used...
