Get Well ~Craftin Desert Divas~

Get Well
I'm over on the Craftin Desert Divas blog today sharing a card with everyone. Of course, I am sharing here as well. I really wanted to do something simple. It's funny how fun it is to do something just a bit different. I love the extra layers cut for the background and the bold, black embossed sentiment.

It is super simple using a paper trimmer to cut extra layers for die cuts. I love the interest it adds. I was thinking of adding black layers but in the end I am happy with how the sentiment and hearts really pop. After all 5 layers were adhered together I cut a stripe on an angle and then popped that. It's really neat in person. I like the mix of the bold black and the soft background paper.

I knew I wanted to find a way to make something beachy for this challenge. I practiced this background before making something that I could color. I'll admit, it was tricky getting the placement right. I wasn't totally happy with it but went ahead and used it but cut the base down (using a CDD die). That made the design centered better and then it was onto color. I used watercolor for this.

Because this is pretty bold, I left off any sentiment and used embellishments that were a very close match to the painted colors. Simple but I really like the feel to the card.
I look forward to seeing your projects as well for this challenge! Here are the CDD goodies I've used...

Rocket Hugs ~Craftin Desert Divas~

Hi friends, I'm with you today to share my daily post for CDD. I created this white on white card with lots of stamping! It is so fun how well the stamped images pop on the simple background. I also really enjoyed making these typical boy images into something more girlie. But not too girly? Anyways, the different color scheme was a welcomed change!
I used my favorite CDD dies to create this and popped the outer and inner panels only. Then added sparkle and Glossy Accents. These were colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

Home Sweet Home Card

Home Sweet Home

Hi everyone! I am so happy to be sharing at my FAVORITE die cut designer shop! I never tire of using PPPR files! With that said, even though I have used some of these images in the past, I still find ways to reuse them and make them feel totally different!
One of the things I love most about card making is being able to make something special, for a special occasion. A precious friend of mine is going through a very difficult divorce. She's pretty much been hopping home to home for almost 6 months and finally, thank God, got an apartment! So this one's for her! I'm excited so I had to share the story behind this.
Okay, so I used one of my favorite die cutting techniques which is layering multiple cut files. Trying to cut dimensional foam tape behind this title would have been impossible. The easy part, is cutting multiples and then gluing those together. They really do go together very easily. My favorite glue is Tombow Mono Multi glue, the small detail tip makes putting some pieces together super simple.
The yellow title pieces is 2 pieces. The blue another piece and then the W and E another 3 layers. Making this title 7 layers all together! But I adore how this stands out! I did use dimensional foam behind the title shadow pieces.
Here is the file I've used to create this...

Appreciative of you visiting us! Thanks for stopping in! Today marks the first week of summer for my house! Woohoo!

I had the most amazing time creating this birthday card for my little
guy who's birthday is this Thursday. This was a timing consuming card but
really fun to create and put together.
Showcasing our NEW June release Greeting Word Dies

For an extra pop of color I layered multiple word dies together.
Starting with about 4 in red and blue on top. Then covered with Wink of Stella.

I used some other CDD dies and showcased a few small images
from a variety of other CDD stamp sets. Then created my own very
colorful background!

I have a pretty lengthy list for ya...I told you, lots of CDD goodies...

New $1.00 sequins....

And here is what I've made to share!
A pretty artsy styled card set for some girl friends from church.
I wanted to thank everyone from my small group so I knew
the best way was to make handmade cards.

I embossed the border and then inked over that, then stamped the word border in
a coordinating ink color. As for embellishments, I kept that very simple
with layered sequins. Of course the card design was made super simple
using our beloved Fancy Frame die.
